Stinger just started emailing out fiber laser promotional "testing results": STREET TESTING FIBER LASER

I don't think any RDF members attended this testing, and who knows what grade firmware that DE had. Hopefully we see some member testing of this system, I'm curious if they've really figured it out or if it's another case of cool new hardware and failed software execution.

Yeah that was interesting. Who knows if they can also jam the other variants out there reliably, but there's no doubt they spent the time to make sure the install and performance was solid before the public demo. Hopefully it works well! Fingers crossed...

"In our industry alone, the radar and laser performance claims are numerous and often outlandish. Think “15-band radar detector” and “the only one to jam Dragon Eye laser guns”. Talk is cheap."

Shots fired... (Well, definitely at Cobra but not ALP)

I'm sure someone attended here on RDF,and a few beta testers are under NDA. I did not see no newer DESL series being brought out....

It will still be overpriced and the owners of these systems will lose support and be stuck with a heavyweight system

Since that was at KnowledgeFest, I doubt many/any RDF members were there. It's a show intended for installers in the industry, not so much the general public. I've had invites to go and it woulda been nice to go to this one too, but I haven't had the time to go to one yet. Either way, I plan on testing on the 26th and we can always get whatever guns we want in to see how it and the other jammers compare.

Lol. I figured the distributor would be smarter than to call out Radenso/ALP considering Stinger was their backup choice. They called me and asked for distribution rights first, and I thanked them but said we already have established partners.

Guys, Just a friendly reminder, please do not mention any firmware versions or shooting techniques. I had to modify some of the postings to reflect this. Sorry for any inconvenience but it had to be done.

Truly unbelievable and irresponsible of Stinger! I like what they are attempting to do, but lose more respect for them everyday (besides the issues of almost non-existent support). In all the crowd pictures, I don't see one single person wearing any eye protection. There is one guy that looks like he might have 5.0 IR Safety Glasses on, but it is very hard to tell. This is not brand bashing of their product because I think they might be onto something especially for Ban States and wish them all the luck to succeed, this is about Corporate responsibility.

Bystanders are standing there looking directly into the on coming IR Lasers! It is just silly how people have been allowed to get the impression that only the driver of the vehicle has anything to worry about. He is way more protected then the watchers because the Lidar Gun is only firing one beam and should be down low on the vehicle. The bystanders are get inundated with multiple firing transmitters and are intentionally looking directly at the source with zero protection.

Shame on Stinger for not using common sense, not educating bystanders, and not providing protection for participants standing directly in front of an oncoming Stinger outfitted vehicle! These test runs are NOT like Traffic Enforcement encounters where the LEO might shoot a vehicle once or twice getting a speed then verifying it. In Stingers own words, "Then for the main course: Take two of the trickiest laser guns available and try to shoot the hell out of our Fiber Laser." These demonstrations runs are an encounter where the Stinger is repeatedly firing time after time after time as the Lidar operator is proving the system is doing its job against multiple repeated attempts to get a speed reading!

IR is LASER plain and simple.
