Have you encountered angry drivers because you drive faster than they do?

as hes exiting, a wrench may or may not have been allegedly launched at his truck hard enough to ricochet about 10 ft off his truck followed by many insults and greetings from a car similar to mine. I've since ran across him a few more times and he just moves over now
A wrench, huh? Sometimes a similar car’s gotta do what it’s gotta do.
I had a guy try to hit me with a milkshake or a soda the other week. He cut me off in a passing zone on a rural highway, so I may have been nipping at his heels a little. It was funny, cause he missed completely. Otherwise, I might have been a little pissed. It does sound like you trained your friend nicely though.

every once and a while, however around me lots of folks go +20 on the highway and +15 around town so generally as long as you aren being a dick to them on the road and passing carefully and respectfully they dont bother, but some areas area worse than others. I would suggest a dash camera (front and rear) since folks up your area seem to be a bit agressive on the road... that way if anyone ever does come after you at any point you have good footage of the events so the police can take care of the other party thats being agressive toward you. personally I this is why I am armed when I go places... but FL is pretty cool about that... not all states are.
I live in an area that has a lot of wildlife  Amazon.com : SABRE FRONTIERSMAN Bear Spray (7.9 oz and 9.2 oz) - Maximum Strength, Maximum Range, Includes Glow-in-Dark Safety-Ideal for Hiking, Camping and Hiking : Bear Protection : Sports & Outdoors

In front of you but behind a Rabbit
.
Is it just me, but in the last ten years or so, the number of LLH have quadrupled? And now they will not move over for anything?

I am usually PSL +20 to +40 depending on the road, so I rarely get passed. But every once in a while I get lucky to get flashed and more over for my juicy Rabbit!

I think the pissed off drivers comes from playing to much Mario Cart or Grand Theft Auto !!

Nope - I just make room for you to go by. Then I just hit you with maybe a blast of Ka or K. :shifty: Makes a long drive more 'fun' at times.

Now that’s just evil! I’ve had other civilians do that to me before. Spinning my head in confusion looking for the popo!

Yep. Mostly guys in F-250's or the like camping in the left lane. They don't seem to like having a Miata blow by 30 MPH faster on their right. I have zero tolerance for LLH's if there is an opening and if I tailgate they can't see me anyway.

Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

I don't hog the left lane ever. I am the pass and get back into the right lane type. Unless need to pass another in a very short time. Illinois does have a law saying you need to merge back to the right lane.

I think it also has a lot to do with where I live. Outside of a road trip that took me past west Memphis, most of the angry drivers happen where I currently live, NW Arkansas. People drive really slow around here, usually 10-20 MPH UNDER the limit. Maddening. There is a retirement community that has around 10,000 people in it that is a few miles north plus we have people from all over the world who just aren't use to driving on US streets thanks to vendors coming in for Walmart Headquarters.

That's wild reading all of these stories about people actually getting mad for being passed. I've never had that happen to me. I have had a-holes pull out right in front of me in a 45mph zone, that freakin gets under my skin like no other.

Oh yes, perfect example last week!

Guy in a Golf R decided he wanted to race me, I obliged engaged launch control, naturally having a stage 1 RS3 I Roflstomped him, at the next set of lights he hung his right arm out the window and made a wanking gesture at me.

Most people open their windows and go nice car or give me a thumbs up etc.
He's probably young and dumb...........just give him another 20 years.

People get mad when you try to pass them while they are going too slow in the passing lane and won't move over.

I recently had a Silverado flash me with one of those LED light bar things when I passed them at night. It was like a supernova went off behind me.

This guy was not happy and decided to flicking me off. It was a group drive from the dc area up to the pocono raceway and I just happen to be the last car in the group and I was playing catch up.

My speed in kph. Ended up getting pulled over a half mile down the highway for no front license plate and a warning for a 73 in a 65

I passed this guy yesterday in my pius... Real winner in a Nissan Armada SUV. He then proceeded to ride my ass... So I flipped him the bird...

Then I slowed down to make a left hand turn at the next intersection. He went on the hard shoulder to pass me and this other dude I was next to... Clearly he didn't realize I was making a left hand turn because I hit the red arrow and he went through the intersection on a yellow... Thinking I didn't make the light... He was so proud... I would have made the yellow if I was going straight. But I was hitting a red light no matter what so I didn't care...

People are just f'ing stupid. Here in Texas, they have signs on the highway saying left hand lane is for passing only. Almost nobody stays in the right hand lane, even when they are just going the speed limit, there's nobody next to them in the right hand lane, and they should be in the right hand lane. And then they get pissed off when you pass them on the right. I'll never understand why people don't just move over to the right hand lane to let you by and then get back into the left lane after you pass them by. Costs them nothing, and yet it's like they just feel the need to "enforce" the speed limit or think they own the lane they are in. I almost never get passed on the highway, but if someone is going faster than me, I've got no problem momentarily moving out of their way and letting them go on their way. Especially since sometimes I get tired of being the rabbit..lol

@Brainstorm69 there are many mental snapshots I’ve taken of highways around here literally mirrored from the way they’re supposed to be: right lane sparsely populated and moving quick, middle lane denser with traffic and moving more slowly, and the left lane nose-to-tail clogged up and inching along. It eats at the soul.

I passed a ranger this morning who wasn't pleased I passed him at 90+ in my Prius this morning... He tried to close a gap but didn't do the deed well enough. People are so petty...
