well said mateGreat video Vortex and thanks. I emailed Uniden about their stealthy claim and several internet tests showing it to be false. Hopefully, they will explain the basis for their claim. Maybe we should all do the same to show them how important it is to their market.
When i was more active 10 years ago, LO leakage was prevented using a horn filter of a specific length and diameter. The casing also had to be able to prevent leakage. My guess is that Redline is invisible because of the magnesium casing and I've seen pictures of their internal horn design. What material is the R7 casing? Assuming that the design is similar in the R7 and the shape of the narrow dispersion cone exposed in the R3, i'm guessing that the leakage is coming through the front somehow.
As i reconsider a complete replacement of my system, I was considering getting this detector but can't in its current state. Hopefully, they have some fix that is software based instead of a hardware replacement.
