Hey, guys so I just got my Uniden R3 and am a bit confused on how to set it up and also mount it to reduce the visibility of the detector.

I saw that this site (below) has some firmware/ databases I can install but I do not know whether they are the latest versions or even compatible with my model. I was hoping one of the members could chime in on how to fix this.

Also my car has no tint at all so it's gonna be risky installing this. The detector has come with a hardwire kit with a mute and off button so I can stealthily hide it. I was thinking of mounting it in the far top right of the windscreen (but it is attached to the roof and not the windscreen as the coppas tend to look at the windscreen).
Could an experienced person tell me if this is fine or any suggestions on how you set up your radar detector for maximum stealth. You can PM me if you want to keep it less known to the public.

I see that this site has a more recent version of the speed camera database.

I am not even sure I can install this on my US model so just waiting on some help.

How's the new database working for you? I'm currently in the process of building V2.09 for Australia. I'll let you know when it's ready.

Also, if anyone else is reading this, latest blulink V1.37 is no better for Australia than V1.36 or earlier. However, our completely independently build one includes about 1000 additional cameras for AU which aren't in the official uniden one! You guys should also all be using the US firmware not NZA firmware as Australia now has MRCD based cameras which won't be detectable on the NZA firmware versions!

Working well except I have been past a few red light cameras in the city and your DB didnt have it. Also in highways is it normal that the speed camera alert comes up about 600-1km before I actually see the speed camera? Is it some sort of early warning as I know the default warning is given 300m before a redlight/speed camera but 300 metres goes very quickly if you are going 100-130kmh
