Folks,

I can't speak to the extent of Honda and GM BSM problems where you live, however, they are a curse here in NJ. The R7 notch filter has proven to be VERY effective in squashing Honda and GSM BSM alerts. Yesterday I had a 2 hour drive on a fairly congested highway (what a surprise for NJ!) and didn't get one Honda or GM BSM alert. It was a delight to come up on an Acura MDX, see the side mirror light go on the the R7 stayed silent. Yes, there is the risk of legit LEO radar in the notch segment. There is also the risk of being so enured to K band alerts that you ignore them This past Saturday, I was driving on a rural back road and started getting a K band alert. I completely ignored it and about thirty seconds later, a local LEO passes me and the R7 arrows point to the rear. As always, K band came from Satan's anus.

Will this result in undetectable 24.194 - 24.205GHz band?

When the K block feature is turned on, the detector will not alert the user inside of those frequencies.

Ditto on effectiveness from my experience so far. And yes, legit should he knocked out. We need some of the screw turning bench testers to confirm. I have not drilled out my Bushnell yet to adjust frequency (screw) transmission. Maybe couple weeks get around to that. If not confirmed by then, will try it out.

I am interested in any thoughts of the ease of R7 settings and real world K band detection experiences to the local New Zealand threat of Redflex cameras operating sub 24.09, and then notch filtering detection of all 24 GHz nominally above this. Locally, sub 24.09 seems to be the only threat in K band, and filtering anything above would allow greater selectivity and reduce chatter.

Actually, still unknown at the moment. Uniden has not responded to my inquiry about how it is supposed to work. On the bench, with MRCD on, my tuned K-band antenna will punch through pretty much immediately. With MRCD off, it punches through briefly and then goes silent, with an ocassional, random PT after that. So don't know if it's designed to alert to a strong signal or not. But safest to assume for now that it blocks everything.

In order for K-Block to work properly, MRCD should be OFF, correct? I have seen people who have posted their settings that have K-Block ON and MRCD ON. It makes sense to me that MRCD should be OFF.

Well, that's what weird about it. I've been running my R7 with MRCD and K-block on in Hwy mode the last couple of days to see if I get lots of PTs, but I haven't. Occassionally get one, but usually don't. But it seems like trying to find a LEO with a new detector. Suddenly I can't find that many Hondas/Acuras...lol.

Have you gotten any information from Uniden that you can share on how this filter works? I use it with MRCD on and sometimes get a punch through.

Hopefully we will hear from them soon. Hopefully not a bandwith blockout.

The lockout is what BRD did on the NetRadar, correct? I'm sure that is what he requested, it may not be working correctly but I thought he mentioned that is what he requested. Plus, feedback on that feature has been positive for the NetRadar.

If I understand you correctly... for you, as opposed to some of us who can see legitimate K-band fall all over the frequency range, K segmentation is great if it's done right. If that's the case, thanks for this, I've learned something new today. Thanks for posting.

I have not alerted to a single honda/acura since enabling K block. The detector doesn't alert in any way, audio or visual. I wish it acted as a locked out signal, so not audio alert but a greyed out visual alert. This way I'd have time to look for a honda and reassess the validity of the alert.

Here is a real LEO PT with notch filter on

Couldn’t believe it. Being that high in the freq.

Interesting...this seems to indicate that the "notch filter" is actually heavy filtering of that segment of K band and does not turn it off altogether. On a side note, and this is unrelated to the notch filter, I am getting 34.7 and 33.8 alerts left right and center with no visible sighting of the LEO. Some of them ramp pretty high.

Yeah that is really interesting. Thanks for reporting it!

Maybe the name "K Block" is a bit of a misnomer then. If it's not truly blocking all signals in those frequencies and instead doing some aggressive filtering, it has me wondering now exactly what the feature is doing. I've asked Uniden for specifics and hopefully they provide a little more info.

Did you get a nice rampup and detection range? or did you get a close range alert like you were running in City mode?
