xydrine submitted a new resource:

[RDF] User Banner Grouping (XenForo2 Addon) - Lifetime Subscription - This addon provides grouping of user banners based on XenForo usergroups...

General Information:

This addon is a collaboration between another coder who our community hired to help create this addon - custom for our forum, and myself (making changes/additions to it after he was done with the basics).

This addon allows you to change the way user banners are displayed - grouping them based off of display priority.

-- Example --

Let's say a user is a member of these secondary user groups:

1.) Beginner
2.) Intermediate
3.) Advanced

And let's say you...

So I downloaded this yesterday and installed on my forum, and we're having some issues. We're trying to use CSS to insert images as banners with this, but we've had no luck, even though the same CSS classes work in regular user group banners and user title ladder, but when used on these banner all that shows up is a small empty box.

Hi, can you show me the details of how you have them setup? If you can do that I can absolutely help you.

Thanks!

Hi, I'm part of TB and I'll show you how we did the banners there.

On app_user_banner.less it was done like this:
124440

in the end of background I used no-repeat

as for the user groups, it was done like this:
124441
124442

and in the group banner we did it this way:
124443
124444

and it showed like this for us
124445

Cool cool, so your banners are working as you want?

As you can see on our site, we use the banner grouping addon as well (the whole point of developing it) - and have custom CSS (which I can post and show how we have them setup) to do it (obviously).

I guess if you could show me what your banners currently show as, and what you want them to show as, that would be the best way for me to give an example on how to do it.

See the image below. The images are through usergroup, then the little purple rectangle on the right is through this addon:

Gotcha, thanks. Your site is behind a password-protected prompt, correct? I was going to check it out but it looks like that's the case.

Can you provide me with the css code for the specific user banners - i.e. "vampire" and "reborn" - that'd be helpful.

Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, we're in the process of setting up the forum before going public.

Code:
.reborn
{
    background: url("https://thrillerbark.com/styles/default/xenforo/ranks/reborn.png") no-repeat;
    width: 150px;
    height: 62px;
    color: transparent;
}

.vampire
{
    background: url("https://thrillerbark.com/styles/default/xenforo/ranks/vampire.png") no-repeat;
    width: 150px;
    height: 62px;
    color: transparent;
}

That is incredibly strange, can you try adding:

display: block;
box-sizing: border-box;

To each of these CSS elements? I know it will stack them (it should stack them) but I'm curious if that would make them appear at least.

Thanks!

I'm actually wondering if the password protected site is preventing the CSS from updating or something, I know that sounds absolutely insane but I've seen rather odd behavior for sites behind htpasswd protection. By any chance can you inspect that small element in chrome (the small little blip box type thing where it should be appearing but isn't) and see if it's not loading the CSS properly - or check the chrome (or firefox or whatever browser you use console log) console log for errors regarding the loading of that specific CSS...

Yeah I know - that's what makes it absolutely weird/insane. I know it *shouldn't* work like that, or should work, I've just seen some really odd behavior when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Can you try using a standard CSS banner styling (like select the Orange CSS banner, not custom CSS, inside the user banner group for that user banner) for one of those just to test to see if it pops up visibly?

Okay so that works properly, that's so odd.

By any chance would you be able to let me access the site (provide me with the htpasswd information) - being able to see it would allow me to fix this real quick.

Else, if you could inspect the elements and show me what they reveal, that'd work too. For example:

inspect.png

Being able to see that when you inspect the proper userbar, and then the little small blip box that is supposed to show up, is what I'm looking for.

Thanks for access.

Okay so here's what I'm looking at right now:

Image4.png

If you clear your cache, I am wondering if this is what it will appear like for you as well. It appears that the CDN URL for that banner, https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/591305047070212096/595604247677239306/reborn.png is not loading the image: 502 Bad Gateway cloudflare

Can you try using a different URL for the banners (reborn.png)?
