Grey VW Redflex van
24.008
V1/JBV1
Vanguard St, Nelson.
Only 50 metres warning approaching the front of the van, 100 plus going away.
Is this the lowest frequency we have seen? I note it's outside of the specified V1 operating frequencies. Does that mean that V1 is a bit wider than it says or are there inaccuracies in it reporting the frequency?

Later V1's go down to 23.9GHz in Euro mode. Redflex cameras from the OIA request are 24.00-24.11GHz, so even allowing for the imprecise nature of RD's the V1 should alert to it, although the range is usually short enough.

Good to see this nice and high up the range, normally the mobile ones in my experience are always below 24.050.

I can't remember seeing a mobile Redlex that high, I wonder what's changed?

How much warning do you get? Or are you on top of it when alerts??

Today was only ~100m. Van was facing me on the left hand side of the road, I was following a car with nothing coming towards me on the other side of the road. I usually get a bit more in that location, ~150m or so.

Yeah that is interesting. Small sample size, but I suppose it could indicate different cal standards in use.

Would it be that a portion of the band is in use by someone else, and they move so as not to interfere?

Possibly, but I don't know what else would use that. RSM didn't show other users of that band.
