Hey Everyone,

I've been thinking about doing this for a while and feel like keeping a running log of radar frequencies people see out there emitted from redflex camera vans will be of value to us all.

It's main benefit will be the ability to be more confident when running custom sweeps on our detectors.

I know it's a bit tedious to do so I completely understand if this thread goes pretty much unused but thought I'd start it anyway.

Please post in the following format.

Thought I'd start us off.

Type of Camera: Redflex camera van
Frequency recorded: 24.065GHz
Detector used: V1 (latest sw)
Location: Upper Harbour highway

Type of Camera: redflex stationary camera
Frequency recorded: 24.097Ghz - 24.097Ghz
Detector used: V1 (latest aw)
Location: Waterview tunnel

Great idea @Aucklandradar

I won't be able to chime in until I get my R7 but will be interesting to see!

I can say that down here in Wellington with my R3 I have turned my k band on and doubled back past speed camera vans but have never detected one. Have done this on 6 or 7 occasions which must mean they were all under 24.050ghz

Good idea. But I won't contribute much as we only have one van in the region. I'll see what I can find next month up north.

Grey VW Redflex van

Only 50 metres warning approaching the front of the van, 100 plus going away.

Thats about all I get running the same set up.
I noticed that jbv1 acquires the signal but then says 'learning' for a few seconds before the detector then alerts

I reckon we have the same kind of radar units in the GoSafe company vans over here in Ireland also. I have noticed that they are always below 24.100 but I think my last encounter with one was around 24.095. Bloody pests of things cos I have a Beltronics STi-R Plus that cost a fortune and I get absolutely zero or very little warning approaching the vans from the front and even coming towards the rear, I can read the reg plate before it alerts me so it's pretty much useless now :(

The only good thing is that I can pretty much ignore any alerts over 24.100 as falses.

Mine doesn't. Have you enabled auto lockouts?

Yes I have... Sounds like I need to disable these and it may fix my issue. :)
You may need to check with JB. But do auto lockouts work on box mutes? Do you use them?

Yeah the app would kee muted alerts it had learnt were falses.
It would indicate "LO+[number of times it had seen that alert]" when the detector detected the false alert.

Ive disabled it now and I think it's going to help greatly with redflex alerts as previously it would aquire the alert, stay muted while it learned (compared to previously encountered database I assume) then finally alert by which time I was already past the source.

I wonder if that glitch is why some V1 users don't see low power K alerts?

I haven't seen reports of this.. but it could be.
I normally got alerts to the low powered K band redflex after i passed the source.

The worst range I've had was on Ngauranga Gorge and Kaimai cameras facing away, had an alert right alongside the camera. Usually I get some forward warning.
But at least you can see the cameras before they can nail you.

Thanks for doing multiple passes.

This is why I always keep a detector with me which can scan k band lower.
