....

(committed to that system and config; not ALP).

....

(If this was a discussion about a Chevy Suburban I'd agree--"three heads", but other posts claim the aerodynamic shape of the c7 Corvette [especially without a front license plate] makes it hard 'enough' for LEO to mark a Corvette with quick AND accurate regularity.) Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it seems to me that the irregular shape at the grill's nose (without a license plate) would require the laser target-sighting to move to the sides more for better reflection (where a two-head system could theoretically be completely effective). But that's just my skinflint WAG talkin'..."
What makes you eliminate a system as an option? Budget?

Secondly, when it comes to laser targeting, a skilled operator can tag a car with something as small as a side mirror. The shape/color/grill/size/etc doesn't preclude it from being an easy laser target with modern guns.
Still new to the acronyms etc...what will be the difference with the VPR heads (and what's it stand for?) and would it be best to wait for those to come out?
VPR is variable pulse rate--the lidar guns which are often referred to as VPR will output inconsistent patterns to fight jamming capabilities (more to it than that, a lot more... But that is the basic explanation). This is what makes the modern guns tougher to jam. The Dragoneye guns are especially good at this as the owner scratches his itch with beating countermeasures. (insert cat/mouse/cat meme here).

Whatever way you go, testing is key. Get it tested against anything you might come across.

Get the most you can afford now and you can add more to it later. Likely a supporting head will be another chunk of change and you will probably want one front and back.

BTW this is for North/Central Texas. I got painted by lidar last week on I-35 heading to Austin, it was the only cop I saw doing any enforcement the whole way...R7 didn't make a peep of course. I knew he was there (thank you, Waze), but still...

Was this North Austin, or near Temple? I run my system in central Tx.

As I remember, it was between Waco and Temple.

I considered an ALP system, but I'm hedging towards TMG. Curious how the two compare for Texas. Probably should do both my cars

Dragoneye is super rare here. Texas is big on Ultralites and Stalker lidar. PM me on what you want.
