I'm really close to ordering from Jag. Still doing mop-up research on the Quad system (committed to that system and config; not ALP).

I'm wondering about installation... like everyone else, I'm hoping/anticipating TMG's rollout of a VPR head, and intend to purchase it if (/when- hope, hope) it does.

My question is: are there folks out there who can confirm that ALL laser encounters have been successfully handled by only two heads up front?

The scant (two) examples of c7 Corvette grill photos I've found show that the fronts are defended by 3 heads. Is three heads a consumer's notion of "insurance/overkill" (no pun intended), or will the TMG work with two heads in front?

(If this was a discussion about a Chevy Suburban I'd agree--"three heads", but other posts claim the aerodynamic shape of the c7 Corvette [especially without a front license plate] makes it hard 'enough' for LEO to mark a Corvette with quick AND accurate regularity.) Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it seems to me that the irregular shape at the grill's nose (without a license plate) would require the laser target-sighting to move to the sides more for better reflection (where a two-head system could theoretically be completely effective). But that's just my skinflint WAG talkin'... so I ask for experienced c7 owners to please chime in.

Thank you.

Thanks, Matthewstorm; I saw your post. It's one of the reasons I posed my questions.

Did you install the 5th head (middle) because TMG specifically recommended another head for the c7 for complete coverage? Or did you do it because you lacked confidence in two heads' ability to provide complete coverage?

Thanks again!

Thats a huge front end so yeah 3 heads would make sense on that car. Remember TMG cover less per head then ALP heads do.

Thanks, Guys. And for that, Oktavf- I didn't know the TMG covered less. Now 3 makes real sense.

Several Vettes are equipped with TMG's. I am currently setting up a Vette in West Texas next week. The motocops love the old school LTI 20/20 there.

Thanks, Riseboi. The last info I have is that there is PL3, UltraLyte, LTI TS, TS/S and TS/LR around the state (Mississippi). But I'm slightly concerned about DragonEye because it has been reported along a frequent route I take on I-10 cross-country.

Aside from a possible Dragoneye encounter on your road trip, a triple head TMG setup will be fine against the lidars mentioned above. As for DE's, yes there are some issues at closer range <500' although Vettes tend to have a lower profile which tends to help (somewhat) in your favor.

Thanks, Asleeper! Puts my mind at ease... unless I get truly gully bushwacked or I'm stone cold asleep, it'd be pretty hard to get popped in the wide open without seeing the LEO vehicle. (I don't hardly ever speed in moderate traffic or urban areas; 'way too much that's unpredictable, and I don't crest hills or on-ramps with a lead foot.)

I installed it for peace of mind and because the Stingray has a huge ass front end.

Lurking...reading...and learning from all you great guys about the TMG system...I’m in New York and would be installing this on my C7 ZR1...does anyone know what laser is used in NY State? As for RD I have both the Radenso Pro M and the Uniden R7...

Here is the front end of my car..should be fairly easy to mount the 3 heads...can someone give any insight on my above post?
Pro M City Suburbs
R7 / R3 hills, mtns, trees, Rural.
BOTH ARE fine for Interstate Travel
Albeit, R7 DOMINATES DISTANCE !!

I ran my Pro M / and still run my RCM AC on Interstates, Suburbs, City, Rural.

As for the TMGs they WILL have the elusive Dragon sussed out soon. They still get it down to 300' at the present time. Remember you can do 6 heads (3 front 3 rear). Point being you can move heads later
When VPR heads come out. .
If you overbuy heads now you have "spares" in waiting.

Thanks benzr….Im leaning towards always running the R7 now although I still do love my Pro M, and you cant beat Radenso's customer service in my opinion....

Still new to the acronyms etc...what will be the difference with the VPR heads (and what's it stand for?) and would it be best to wait for those to come out?

I wouldn't wait. Ya NEVER know when you will get hit .... and you'll kick yourself in the @ss !!! If you get a Lazer ticket in the meantime.

If car is smallish then 2 front two back

If car is medium 3 front 2 or 3 back.

TMG will allow up to eight heads but we haven't really tweaked the setups past
3 front and 2-3 back.

One peep here runs 4 heads front 3 rear. The 4 head hasn't been really tested yet.

VPR Just means it future proofs your system and works in conjunction with your heads you already have.
Will help w some more difficult guns too.

R7 is REALLY PROVING ITSELF !!! As a FORMIDABLE CONTENDER !!

A fine choice

Btw I wouldn't do 4 sensors upfront as that hasnt really been tested well and i question if 4 sensors can cause interference ....

ONE peep has been successful w 4 BUT
He had to tweak re-tweak re-tweak and tweak and Test each one w a proper Gun each time.

Good Luck

Try to stay out of Dragon areas as it does have eventual PT ~ 300'

ALP still owns that all yhe way.
