Say's that he had to go over 100 mph to catch up to me but it's just cause I was ahead of him already....

Got a pacing ticket the ticket say's that I raced past him in the 1'st lane, and that he had to go over 100 mph to catch up to me and says I was doing 90 in a 55. I was going with the flow of traffic on the highway in the fast lane which yes was speeding but I was never going anything over 80. Just because he has to go over 100mph to catch up to me when I'm already ahead of him doesn't mean that I'm doing 90.
He kept telling me how he has it on his dash cam that I was doing 90 since he was doing 100... He kept telling me over and over that if I go into court and fight it that the judge will see the dash cam footage and that it will be hard to fight since I am the only one in the vehicle. He literally kept telling me that over and over to like "scare me" so I don't go to court.
I've never once had a speeding ticket and my record is clean.
What do you guys suggest?

Do you have a dashcam that shows your speed? With a blackvue you can view it in the viewer on the computer.

I do have a dash cam and looked it up. Never once saw the guy front or rear. Only time he came up was when he was doing his "100 mph" to catch up to me. Ticket says speeds "close to 90". He never got my speed he was just assuming. My dash cam does show speed and I never even came close to that 90 but at the same time...The PSL was 55 if you know what I'm saying.... Again keeping up with traffic in fast lane was about 70-80. That highway is normally 65 but with the fake construction and Georgia being stupid they changed it to 55 on a 7 lane highway...

I would call some lawyers and tell them the situation and what your dashcam speed shows. Might try to get it dismissed completely on grounds of the officer lying under oath....

Definitely fight it. It almost always pays to fight a ticket, and even more so in this case where the officer estimated your speed.

Did you see him when you passed him? Nothing in the dashcam footage?

Again keeping up with traffic in fast lane was about 70-80.
Why do you think he picked you out of the pack?

It's Georgia there's so many 18 wheelers and cars everywhere. Dash cam footage front and rear doesn't show him at all. I didn't even see where he came from. Only time I saw him was when he was legit up my ass following me by that time I was already close to PSL. I was the last one of the pack there was no one else behind me. He must of had a clearing and sped up to "pace" me. So his method for calculating my speed was that since he had to go over 100 mph to catch up to me that I was doing 90... I can see him from the rear dash cam when he is speeding and man he was flying(he caught up to me so fast so I don't see how he gets 90 mph out of me)

One time I fought a ticket with social anxiety. I got busted cutting through a Lowe's parking lot to make it easier to get through a traffic signal that sucked (5 roads intersected at once) and he started creeping out towards me as I was trying to turn on the fast way through so I stopped and waved him out and he pointed at me and waved me along and then lights were on by the time I made it 4 feet onto the road. Ticket was for "avoiding a traffic signal". Went to the courthouse for the usual hum drum but didn't pay attention and never signed the sheet (different place I did my tickets at normally would register you based on your scheduled phone call automatically so I assumed it was like that) and I sat there for 4 hours until I was the last guy there and the prosecutor asks why I haven't been seen, figures out I'm just slow, and changed the $250 fine to a $65 parking ticket.

Maybe the cop has social anxiety and won't want to reveal his "Best of Britney Spears" music tastes from the dash cam

The way pacing works is the officer has to be behind you, matching your speed for XX distance. So if he was accelerating that pretty much invalidates it. Likewise, the "about 90" basically says he wasn't sure how fast you were going and the scare tactics of trying to get you to not go to court make his case seem even weaker.

I would definitely fight this one, also are you able to file a subpoena for the officer's dash cam footage before the court date?

Fight that, it is a BS ticket. the officer didn't write the exact speed then it means he didn't successfully pace you if he did he would have written the speed he was going when keeping up with you. and yep him having to speed to catch you I mean duh. even if you were going 40 in a 50 zone he could do 100 to catch up to you or he could do 41 and catch up to you... the rate at which he catches up to you is completely irrelevant, thats his own judgement.

If you have dash cam footage you may not want to submit it if it has your speed anywhere on it. Once you submit as evidence they can use it as well and if you edit it at all then they can come at you with evidence tampering.

So then what would you guys say is the best way of dealing with this?
Go to court and poke holes in the cops bullshit. If that doesn't work for some reason, submit Dashcam video to at least get it reduced from 90 or try to show the cop doesn't know what he's doing?

He'll want to find the policy for pacing then argue that the officer didn't follow the procedure properly.
