Driving back through Sea Bright NJ this afternoon and saw an X band detection show up on my RD where I’ve never seen one before in the town. Started to ramp up from the front and sure enough, saw cop car driving towards me. Arrows flipped to behind me after he passed, so definitely him. Was 10.505 X band if I remember correctly. Never seen Sea Bright cops with X band, had always been Ka before that. Possible it was a cop going through their town from an adjacent town, as I didn’t catch the town name on the vehicle. But sure did look like their SUV cruisers. FYI.

X band is in use in 3 counties in South Carolina. One of the County's just happens to be featured on live PD.
X is still an effective radar to this day. Great for City use and they know that.

They’re using X-band because “radar detectors don’t work” and hope those that do use them will disregard an X-band alert.

Think you’re all spot on here. When you hear a Ka alert, you know to be cautious. But not so much with K and esp X band. Makes for great camouflage of sorts. With BSM on K, would expect more K band together with Laser when more affordable for depts.

Wish I had video. Used to have Escort’s dashcam attached to the GT360 but it limited it’s ability to acquire a GPS signal in combination with the Blendmount. So it had to go. But it was DEFINITELY him. Ramp up with front arrow followed by switch to rear arrow as he passed by confirmed it.

Dang, good catch. I only get alerted to school buses trying to catch speeders
