Hi All, just wondering if there are any Calgary (and Surrounds) Lidar Testing meetups in the works? With the warmer weather seemingly upon us I'd very much like to try my setup out, as I'm sure a few others would too.

A little while back I had a front (2 RX / 1 TX) install done and recently I self installed a single sensor at the rear. My front install I have doubts over, pretty much an upside down "V" - but have seen others install photos of a similar configurations with positive comments.

I've always wanted to partake in a Testing meet but always found myself away for work up north but that has now changed. Happy to help and learn on the "gun pulling" side too and not just the receiving vehicle side. Unfortunately I don't have any guns of my own to bring to the party!

Slap some radar detectors on the windshield please when doing testing against “parking” sensors. Would love to see what kind of alert, if any detectors get

Are you willing to post pics of your install before testing? We should be having an event in June

You’ve got 1 sensor in the back and you’re worried about the front? Haha. Is there a reason you don’t have it mounted in the centre?

Keep an eye on this thread incase we forget to tag you. There will definitely be some testing events in or around Calgary over the summer.

Worried about the front as its the main threat, thinking with the 2 RX being on the lower grill that the headlights are a little exposed but then again first point of attack is where the license plate would be if we had them here in Alberta.

The plan is to definitely get a second for the rear. The trunk handle, rear view camera and plate lights are limiting on the upper side in the center. I feel center under the plate would be way to obvious. Knowing I will get a 2nd sensor I don't want to be drilling holes that I would not use later. I gather it's mostly legacy guns used here in Calgary and with Distance on rear increasing as opposed to decreasing on front I'll take my chances till then - I don't speed to much in the city anyways.

Alrighty, will keep an eye on it. Thanks

very nice setup + ride.

Are you worried about the rear left?
Thanks Smason. She goes Well.

Rear left is a worry but more a secondary worry at this stage. As front is the main target I'm a little worried if my headlights get targeted and the rx sensors are a little far away from them....

Keep me posted re Calgary area testing for video /recording requirements. I'm also into drone tech, so we can get some good shots from above to show distance etc. (Plus, I'd like to test out my new R7) ;)
