This cop stopped shooting me before I even JTK'd - you can see the external LED in the reflection of the windscreen. In my opinion my JTK wasn't terrible, but the nose dive was very very real. I've pondered on it for a week and still don't fully know what happened/why it happened. Nonetheless, it was a pretty decent save for both myself and the guy behind me

Maybe he got a PT that's why stopped shooting? It's weird he stopped even before you JTK'd

I don't remember the last time my car had PT's with any gun. My car has always been super solid but I guess strange things can happen...

Not sure if you have a lidar gun but meet up with someone soon just to be sure.

That is a possibility although a dual head ALP shouldn't have any issues jamming the UL. I've tested a few ALP setups with mine (UL 200LR) and it was JTG or <100' PT's every time.

Another possibility is the LEO was jammed but was able to visually estimate the vehicle was traveling at/near PSL and didn't bother taking a second shot.

Yeah I have 2 standard/1TX per side. I can't imagine a PT, but the estimation theory might be correct, it's just odd he'd give up so quickly?

I test often. Just tested a brand spanking new Compact a few weeks back - I had 1 250' PT in probably 50 runs total and that wasn't a regular shot

Just to add, I used to only run 1 sensor on the rear and it would jam my Ultralyte no issues

Maybe he saw someone he liked better behind you and decided to switch targets?

If he saw your nose dive, that probably would've been enough for him to move on to the next target. Not out of the ordinary as you were fairly close when he first targeted you anyway. LEO's usually don't spend more than a few seconds targeting a vehicle. It's point and shoot and on to the next one.

Your setup is solid against an UL, doubtful it was a PT but it wouldn't hurt to test your setup just to be sure.

Is it possible he acquired your speed right after you killed, during the announcement?

Honestly he either didn't get my speed or it was a PT. The external LED is telling me he gave up (as there was no flicker). I just think it's strange to give up after < 1.5s... Anybody who has shot a lidar gun knows that it can easily take that amount of time to acquire a speed on a vehicle with no jammers

Or are there just that many people in your area running jammers that they just give up? :D

I totally agree. I've sat next to motors guys on the side of the road shooting laser while my guys are cleaning up gear....I see them shoot quick and move to the next vehicle. One let me play with the laser gun when I was waiting one day (He actually told me to let him know if anyone was 15 over....we were on a 50mph road and that was his threshold, not sure if he'd really have pulled them over or not, nobody was even close to 15 over probably because the big red fire truck with shiny lights had everyone's attention, and I wasn't planning on telling anyway:)) but anyway, I told him I was having a hard time hitting some cars, others were super easy...his answer was "ya, I don't worry about it too much. If I get a quick reading great, if not, I just move on". I kinda got the feeling that generally there are more fish than the nets will hold and they aren't too worried about getting every kill. I'm guessing if they saw a car that visually they KNEW was speeding and couldn't get a clean hit that it might draw more attention....especially if they were good and hidden and then saw the "nose dive". Interesting thoughts anyway. Thankfully I don't see a ton of Laser so to this point I haven't invested in CM's.

not that the cop would had been honest enough to tell the victim but it is a huge issue to have a non trained person tag someone and go after the target based on an untrained/uncertified assessment on the laser gun reading, what if you would had been a dick and told the cop someone was going 70 and he was not ? not really professional of him

That's kinda what I figured. I'm guessing he was pretty sure it wasn't going to happen because of the Big red truck slowing every one down.....at least I'd like to think that. I'm guessing he was just having fun with me because the geeky fire Captain wanted to play with his laser. Most of the guys I work around don't really get all that excited about writing tickets.....only the motor units have any radar or laser.

Southern Utah area highway patrol take speeding far more seriously and hide and get you for 5 over etc. but thats because speeding gives them probable cause to pull people over and check for drugs.
