Greetings all,

I can only get 21 inches of clearance between the two heads. I haven't tested it yet so I don't know what the performance will be. The system is quad but I haven't installed the other two heads and was thinking of putting them on the rear and adding the VPR head when available. But I'm already at tight clearances on this little car. Any suggestions?View attachment 114968

Thanks!

Here's a shot from further out. I don't know if we even see any DE in the Houston area?

I'd move one slat down and paint/plastidip the grill while you are redoing install. The heads will blend in to the grill. 2 heads will be enough. My DD is an E500 and grill is about same size.

4 heads... no interferrence issues...View attachment 115274
Now we have another installation option, a diamond. How much of gain is there in terms of jamming going from three to four heads on a small/midsize car? Assuming the heads are the same (no TX heads) and properly installed.

I ran 4 heads stacked on a small car it didn't work for me. Then went 3 heads but 2 worked better especially for DE! Idk...

I think the more heads you have the more potential issues with crosstalk/interference, hence reduced performance. Especially on a smaller car where they are closer together. However, against the DET's three seems to be the way go for optimum performance as evident with ALP (2rx, 1tx). Hopefully TMG's VPR head will offer similar results.

During a recent unofficial test after I went to 3 heads from 4 we had hits of around 800 ft or so till a PT on a older FW DE gun. Pulled the wire for the 3rd bottom head and we cut that distance roughly in half. Two heads is PLENTY for a small car! Specifically mounted in the grill to cover the lights, etc. BTW the jam icons also disappeared when running 2 heads versus 3...
Yes.
So it was an Interesting quick testing day with TMG and DE.
On his particular vehicle against THE LATEST full size DE his car performed MUCH better with 2 heads rather than 3 and like he stated there was no constant Jam icon /// with 2 heads. Against a 3 head set up TMG will throw the Jam icon "///" consistently on his vehicle.
This was really interesting.
Problem being though was that Stalker performed much worse with 2 heads than 3.
If I'm running TMG I would still run with 3 heads unless you see DE everyday like those up north so you know you will be decent against the Legacy and most importantly Stalker Lidars.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's an "overkill" situation where two heads are enough to interfere with the lidar's ability to get reading but not enough to trigger a jam code. That being opposed to three or more heads, where it's more obvious that's it's being jammed.

The other possibility considering this was against the latest version of the DET is they have taken notice of TMG and this is their response. As in, the cat and mouse game continues. Hopefully it's former as opposed to the latter but knowing how said lidar manufacturer operates, there's a good possibility it's the latter.

Yea Im sure its just more of the approach of how TMG handles DE's.
DE's are by far the hardest gums to jam. On 2 heads on his vehicle, it would give you plenty of time to slow down in the real world from 600ft +. Below 600ft on his vehicle with 2 heads I would still be concerned against De.
If im @oktavf knowing what guns he faces, i would keep it with 3 heads and be pretty solid against all other guns. Not 100 percent solid, but comfortably solid.

So far, JTG on TSS, LZ1, XLR non VPR.

PTs with DETC @ 300' -600'. Was doing that with 2 and 3 heads. 4 hasnt changed anything.

Car is rock solid against non vpr guns. You name the spot on the front, ive attempted to burn a hole through it. PHL, DHL, CM, tires, lower bumper, roof, mirrors, windshield... with and without a tripod.

No interferrence.

Two or three heads on a small/midsize vehicle is sufficient. There is probably little (if any) benefit to a fourth head, and might even increase the risk of PT's due to crosstalk/heads trying to jam each other. As for the DET's, something along the lines of ALP's TX is the only way to deal with that lidar.

I wouldn't expect four heads to change much but those are good results against the TSS and Stalkers. Performance against the DET's could use some improvement but aside from that TMG is emerging as good alternative to the ALP especially for those on a budget.
