I think Redflex is less of an issue in the US and Canada than MRCD/MRCT, and that's the market they're focussed on.
If the price was right, I'd possibly buy one for s**ts and giggles, and turn K off on the V1. That's going to depend on how common vans are in the BoP. I'm covered for pole mounts via database alerts.

I was under the impression that the redflex used low intensity polarised radar? The physics of radar is not my speciality, I am however, pretty good at thinking out of the box. I've also got quite good at writing code to do stuff! Happy to help if I can.

I would be keen to see how the Uniden R7 does when it gets here. If that becomes adequate against mobile vans, my feeling is that the problem is largely redundant. The redflex pole mounts cameras are now solved by good GPS alerts.

Did you know that it is possible with RedFlex to calculate tail gate's. It's only a software implementation. Example, if the first target speed is known then within a set time, ' software timer' there should not be another vehical in the hit zone, if there is they are tail gating! Why don't they give these guys tickets as they are the dangerous ones that really get me going.

Australia salutes you mate. Pole cams here don't bother me much. I know and learn my roads as I drive.
The mobile cams though... They suck as they can be mounted on anything now. Tricky.

One more thing to add. If you want Australians to get in on this, I think you'll need to make it undetectable as well.

Stinger is supposedly working on this ATM. I've provided them logs on a couple of local Redflex trailers.

Yikes, read the part where a guy operating the redflex was shot dead.

The one thing I envy, and at the same time fear a bit, is the US constitution. For all the batshit crazy things they do with it, sometimes it really works for the peoples rights.

Just add and push the thread along. NK7 has arrived. Radenso put up a new video demonstrating the XP dealing with Redflex quite nicely, however it wasn't tested on NK7. Is the principle the same? I'm hearing it runs on 2 frequencies at the same time though. Other redflex cameras don't.
Radenso XP and SP have been the best performer yet and I'd lean towards them, but the NK7 is throwing a a spanner in the works. Can't find any info on it or test results.
In the video, they (the testers - Radar Busters) did have another undisclosed detector that was being released, but they kept it under wraps for now.

Frredom of info request from one of the kiwi members showed the following for NK7;

Doppler radar - 23.924 to 24.325 GHz
Ranging Radar - 24.060 to 24.116 GHz

Vortex said that it sounded like a Beltronics. I suggested a possibility might be this one ?

  • New antenna lens for 40% improved K/Ka sensitivity
  • Expanded K band scan to 23.95 GHz
119793

The New V928i includes selectable band preferences (ON/OFF), expanded K band sweep, K Pulse detection, and Hyper K detection for low-power K band pulsed sources.

OK, firstly, whoever did the freedom of information, is a champion.
Secondly to be more specific, test videos I've watched...

&

Detector they refer to is....

Just a conclusion I've drawn from the video. Anything better?
Have not looked at what has been suggested but I'll check it out.
Cheers

Another thing to add for the sake of the thread (for the hell of it).
Good point at this stage would be to ask if the best redflex defence is rdd immune or is there even a balance somewhere for the best of both worlds?
At the moment it's looking like slim pickings.
