The past three days my RC M gps wouldn’t connect. I have a 40 minute commute one way to work and it didn’t connect on Thursday or Friday. I had my gps antenna mounted up in the top left corner of the windshield by the A pillar and haven’t had any problems with it there since I installed it. I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t connect, so today I tried moving the antenna up above my rear view mirror in the middle of the window and it connected a few seconds after startup like usual.

I thought it was strange that it has worked in the original location for a couple months then all of a sudden stoped. If you have a RC M where do you have your gps antenna?

I have mine hidden under my dash and it connects within 4-5 seconds.

Im surprised it works under there. The day I installed it I had it sitting on the dash on the left side of the steering wheel and it wouldn’t connect at all. The next day I put it up on the window and worked fine until now. Also mine has never connected in 4 or 5 seconds. Probably closer to 15-20

@Deacon actually figured it out.
When you mount your GPS antennae under the dash ... you must INVERT IT 180 degrees
Sticky PAd up !!

When you mount it in the window - = sticky side up !! Makes sense actually. Mine worked inverted incorrectly for couple of weeks then stopped working. Flipped it and voila !!

Also IMHO Radenso GPS needs to see a signal
Strong FIRST sets a location of 5 plus
Satellites. Our GPS only needs 3 after the initial 5 satellite startup. IMHO.

Makes sense. I was just confused why mine stoped working after it was sticky side up on the window for a couple months. I’m just glad it started working after I moved it.

Here is where it’s at now.

I have still been having gps issues. I relocated the antenna again because I thought I might have been getting interference from my dashcam that was right below it. It is now on the dash and still being very inconsistent in connecting. It’s also giving very inaccurate speeds. I was lightly accelerating from a stop sign yesterday and it said 0 mph until I got up to about 35. The other day I was traveling at about 60 and I looked at the screen and it jumped up to 74 and then back to normal. Later on the same trip it dropped down to somewhere in the 40’s then back up to 60.

Could I have a defective antenna? From what vortex said in his videos it is normal for it to take longer to connect, but what I’m seeing is anywhere from 5 to 30 min to connect. Sometimes it is quicker to connect but not often.

I would definitely contact Radenso support, what you are experiencing is not normal behavior. My Radenso takes a "long" time to connect...like 10-15 seconds, not minutes.

I think it has a warranty, but I am not sure. I won it in the charity raffle we had. I did unplug it and that didn’t help. I sent them a email yesterday evening so I’ll keep you guys posted when I hear something.

Radenso support got back to me first thing this morning. They told me to update the firmware and see if that helps. I’m going to try that when I get home later if I have time. I have a lot of things to do today so I might not get to it until tomorrow.

After I updated the firmware it started working working properly for about a day or so. After that It went back to doing the same things as before. On Saturday it didn’t even connect at all which hasn’t happened yet.

I contacted support again and they are going to send me a replacement. I have nothing but good things to say about their support. Very courteous and fast responses to my emails

I have same issue with my rcm pro genevo. Gps fix was good first month, antenna was hidden and works correctly, since one month gps fix is not made or only during few minutes and lost.

I contact suport of genevo 2 times but no answer, seems that genevo support is not great as radenso !
I replace antenna without success, so i ordered a new antenna, i’m going to make test next days...

Watch video, no fix or gps going crazy when i’m halted, for it i’m driving !

I send again a message with a link to the board, but i don’t expect something even an answer.
I don’t understand why genevo support are so bad.
I was expected a good product for the price, the 2 antennas with remote display and alp connect (no works too) seems to be The detector i need here, but ... performance are, medium sometimes very under my uniden r3 ! In all conditions.
With the no support i think i will swap to another remote rdd, and follow to guys that genevo support doesn’t exist for who want to purchase.

I had a R3 and it definitely gets more range than the RC M, so that is normal. Where the RC M shines is with its BSM filtering and all around quiet ride that you get. It’s also a good choice if you face Mrcd, mrct, and gatso.

They sent me a replacement antenna. The tracking says it is supposed to be here today! They must have overnighted it. They also are sending a prepaid envelope to send the old one back.

Awesome! I had it in many different locations trying to get a signal. Where I have it right now is on Top of the dash but I plan on moving it under it to hide it. @RaggedEdge has his under the dash and has had good results.
