How does that compare to the R3 and Pro M, do you think?

So far I would say the range is pretty much identical with all top tier detectors. However, unlike the R3 (hardware limited) the R7 can detect ALL MRCD units in Edmonton :).

Seemed to take awhile for the Rear to announce a detection warning alert.

Yea MRCD is pretty tricky... I've found the arrow switch with Ka and K band to be much smoother.

Is that something that can be tweaked in the production units or is that just the nature of the Beast?

Awesome... I'm really looking forward to receiving my R7. Glad I put in my early order a few minutes after midnight on the first order day!:p

Ooh nice! Plus we've got the voice announcements now for direction too. :D
I hope, and maybe you guys who are beta testing could suggest it, that they can allow different tones for front or rear arrows. Hard to describe but I'll try.... like: "deedoop deedoop" for for front and "doodeep doodeep" for rear. Then we can still hear the ramp up without the voice interrupting it.

Please upload an audio file sample of your requested "deedoop deedoop" for for front and "doodeep doodeep"
UGH! LOL. I was looking for one. haha. I just mean that tone goes from a lower pitch to a higher pitch on a front alert and the tone goes from a higher pitch to a lower pitch on a rear alert. It's so simple and will keep that voice from interrupting our ramp up. They could really speed up the other voice alerts too, honestly, but that's another subject.

Looks promising!

And MRCD is definitely tricky, need more tests. I've had ones where I was nearly beside the truck before the Pro M alerted, and then others (with a different truck) where there was seemingly no reflections, but I was getting monster (for MRCD) detections.

That looks way better than what the R3 was showing in 1.48. More like 1.46. Good detection considering there wasn’t anything in front of it to reflect the signal back.

Does the R7 list the frequencies? If so, does it show both?

I do dig the voice telling you you’ve past it.

Thanks for the video @Dukes. Looks like it’s coming along.

The difference depends on the frequency. 24.100 and above are “easy” and 24.100 and below are much more difficult. This particular MRCD unit was 24.088 ;).

Good detection range on the MRCD in terms of range. The issue, and not specific to any RD, is consistency since you have little to time to react to an MRCD alert. Either way, thanks for the video.

Why did the alert tones "slow down" as you got closer? Is the ramp up typically fast then slow.. ?

Wasn't there a a video a while back that showed how 'long' MRCD will sit at a frequency before hopping?

The 'directional voice announcements' - is that just for MRCD or is that also available for the Ka and such?
