Huge thanks again to Uniden for letting us be a part of the R7 development! Thanks also to the anonymous lender of the V1, EX, and CR97 for this test.

I spent a little over 9 hours yesterday out at my long course getting some really good data on the highly anticipated R7. I would have preferred to test a segmented R7 but we have to put that on hold due to a slight bug in the Beta FW. The engineers are already on it, and I don't expect we will have to wait very long.

In the meantime, here's what it can do in Ka Narrow. Note, my NetRadar is a remote install, with both antennas behind a plastic bumper. I think it probably had an advantage for rear detection, as the windshield units were half way down the windshield and the passenger headrests kind of got partially in the way. Add the metal parts of the vehicle, and the rear windshield adding more attenuation, and we should probably consider all of the NetRadar data as apples to oranges. To the R7's credit, the rear antenna didn't seem terribly bothered by the obstructions lol

The Course:

112405

The guns:

112408112407112406

The Results:
112404

Some video highlights:

Adding video of all R7 runs:

Adding video of all V1 runs:

Adding NetRadar DSP 34.7 & 35.5 testing footage:

Adding Radenso Pro-M 34.7 & 35.5 testing footage:

Adding the Redline EX 34.7 and 35.5 runs.

That's some solid benchmarking, good job and thank you for putting in all that effort. I'm very intrigued by the K band sensitivity

Thanks as always for putting in the time and gas! 9 hours is no joke

Early days and just one test, but some really interesting results. Can't wait to see what the R7 can do with proper segmentation!

Was the V1 v3.8945 or 3.8952? If the latter, you don't have to split the 34.7 sweep. Thanks for testing both CS and A mode! Some surprising results there for sure.

Can you post an elevation view of the course?

I wonder how the rear detection results would be different with the detectors mounted higher on the WS? I'm sure we'll see plenty more arrow detector shoot outs in the near future :)

Thanks @hiddencam !
Looks like 34.7 is right there with the R1 but maybe the R7 is giving up a little too the R1 on 35.5?

As expected, the rear antenna adds significant range out the back. Im suprised to see the R1 edge out the R7 on the second 35.5 test though. Whats that about? :hmm:

Two antennas with shared circuitry.

Try alternating from looking forwards and backwards continuously and tell me if you'll catch as much detail as someone always looking forward?

Then they should have used 4 eyes with another brain! Im dissapointed :shifty:

All jokes aside, 34.7 the R1 and R7 were within a blink of an eye. The first test for 35.5, were neck and neck so it was just the second run the R7 lagged slightly. The R7 is hot on K band though, thats where the R1/R3 needed a boost anyways.

Why are some of the K band runs zero'ed out with the detectors? Even the R7/R1?

The R7 did great, im impressed and it really did set a new benchmark IMO with that range out the back. No other WM detector can match it.

Thanks for the tests HC!

Preliminary results looks promising! And this isn’t even with segments yet...
