If you buy a new Escort RD they'll include 1 year of Escort Live (and have been renewing them for free for like 4 years now). No AA integration, Waze definitely is more useful but you can run both at the same time.Is Escort Live free with Max 2? Does it integrate with Android Auto? Or am I better to use Waze for police alerts. I can't find the max 2 on escort's website, wonder if it goes by another model name since Costco is selling it.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you were looking for a better 9500ix then I still think the Max 2 is your best bet. If you want ultimate range then the R3 is going to seriously kick the Max 2's butt for an extra $100.Now that I have been doing some research seems the Uniden R3 may be a better unit then the Max 2.
Yes, always tough...lol. Don't forget the liklihood of ever seeing another fw update from Escort on the Max 2 is probably zero. Not that it necessarily needs another.Re-reading Mike's advice, I much prefer plug & play and the auto learn feature. Now I am thinking the R3 may have better range but may be more chatty on the hwy with BSM. F*ck decisions, decisions.
Maybe you misunderstood my first reply. The 9500ix has zero filtering for new vehicle safety systems, the K band false alerts will drive you insane. There is no further support/updates from escort on this model. The ONLY way you could continue to use it is if you live in say California, they have no K band there so you could turn that band off. I would replace it.So I should have K band off completely? It goes off for it sometimes but not too often. I’m just wondering if this unit will detect newer devices police use? Is there anything commonly used that this won’t detect? Has the range increased significantly on newer detectors? View attachment 112237
