First off, I am in no way a tester or would even consider myself an expert in the counter measure world. I do enjoy reading owner reviews as much as tests. It is interesting to see what people's use cases are, what they value, etc.

Having said that, after reading @Vortex posts on the Max 360c becoming his go to detector in most cases, I decided to give one a try. I have been running the Uniden R3 since launch and have obviously been super pleased with it. I did have to send my first one off after it quit alerting but Uniden replaced it with another one which has worked fine over the last year or so. The thing I have noticed over the last few months is just how noisy my R3 is, especially when I travel to other cities where I have yet to lock out known false alerts. I wanted to try a detector with good filtering, auto lockouts, and arrows. I've driven about 3k miles or so with the 360c and these are my take aways.

Pros:
Auto lock outs are really nice
I didn't think the arrows would be that big of deal but I do like them
Much quieter than the other detectors I've ran
I like the way the alerts are displayed, especially multiple alerts at once
The range is not that bad. I had several alerts during a 1500 mile trip last weekend and I had plenty of time to get slowed down (Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky)
Detector tools is nice

Cons:
The Escort Live app is garbage. It constantly disconnects and you pretty much have to power cycle the detector to get it to work. During my trip last weekend, I did not see a single alert that was registered by someone else using the app.
I have only had two or three BSM punch throughs in my time with the detector but the full ramp up sucks. The R3 handles these better.
Price, one of the bigger cons in my opinion

I am sure there is more, but for the sake of brevity I will end here. I will continue to use the 360c until I see how the R7 tests turn out. I think I am at the point where I can afford to sacrifice maximum range for a quiet cabin.

Fair assessment.
Thanks for your review. Keep doing them and update us as you find more things you like, and those you don’t.

It’s great to hear impressions from other owners.

I have the 360 standard. I'm on board with this. Quiet cabin......is a good. The R3 is just too sensitive. I musta got hit a couple hundred times with Ka and not a one bogey. None. So I sold it. The R7 is going to be more of the same just with arrows so I'm out on that one. The major thing bugging me about the 360 is the laser falses. I drive 15 miles to work and parallel to or on a tollway. Where the R3 goes off once at the same place every trip the 360 can go off up to 3 times a trip. I might turn laser off. It's way too noisy and likely useless. I still have my Radenso Pro-M which is a nice unit except for a couple major annoyances that I'll leave for another time.

Estimate: not based on “sniffing” traffic. The update files appear to be compressed. Maybe 50-75meg Max at a given update. When I run Escort Live on 360c, appears to be less data than running Live on phone. Both are tiny addition to monthly drink of data. Estimate max amount of EL data plan in a month I have seen has been about 220meg.
