I was blown away today when I saw a Tacoma with a camper shell tucked up hidden in a long sweeper on BW8 on the NE side. He was being pretty selective or he was just a decoy. It 100% was painted in HC constable colors and logos with a camper shell to boot lol. It was pretty disconcerting because after spotting him as a threat I almost got back in it because it didn't fit the LEO profile. Have y'all ever encountered this?

Never seen him. Reminds me there's some sheriff who is always always hiding on a straight of the three sisters loop. He is in a huge f150 and always shooting deadly io. The past four times I've driven there he was there in the exact same spot lol.

Trucks are pretty rare for me to see let alone one with the cab thing. Never seen anything like that though.

Interesting, I've ran into a dodge pickup running some killer I/O that would've toasted me if it weren't for waze. This was down in Bayside, TX on 136, the back way from Refugio to Corpus. We get so trained on LEO vehicle profiles that it can burn us sometimes.

Dang, yeah that sheriff is always in a spot with no reception for miles so waze is no help. But if you know his spot you're fine.

No sadly nothing. My a119 was sent back months ago due to complete random failure and I haven't had a good dash cam since.

Did you see the license plate, was it Exempt or private? It could be a Deputy's "POV," Personally Owned Vehicle. A long time ago, Precinct 5 deputies got a car allowance and bought their own cars, the county would add decals, radios & emergency equipment. Today, Reserve Deputies in the Sheriff's Department can use their own cars.

OR, it could be a forfeited Tacoma from a drug runner.

I didn’t catch the plate or the precinct. It was at BW8 and lake Houston parkway on the southbound side. That’s definitely news that roll in personal vehicles.

Well, today I got pulled over by a constable in his personal police package Tahoe. Good thing I knew he violated a couple of Texas penal codes in the process. End result was no citation.

Saw him again today in the same spot but didn’t get a pic. It is confirmed Precinct 5

Wasn’t running radar so might have been a decoy or he may have been napping

Do tell. What penal codes did he violate?

I can’t find the exact penal code at the moment but it pretty much goes like this. The sheriff/constable office deputies have state wide jurisdiction on arresting and issuing citations, but cannot enforce class c traffic violations out of their home county. There are ways around it like agreements/contracts between two counties (hpd does that via my uncle)... I knew he was a Leo and passed him (90 in a 60) to see what he would do... Plus he was in his personal Tahoe that he uses for side jobs.

So they can issue citations, just not class c traffic violations?

Can’t say for sure if it’s the only one but I’d wager that it is. The 3-4 times I’ve seen him he’s been parked in the exact same spot on the beltway. People (even heroes) are creatures of habit and can’t help themselves.
