By way of introduction...

I bought a Uniden R3 about 2 months ago to attach to the new Mustang Bullitt I bought about 4 months ago. This is my first fun car since I sold my last NSX (with Valentine One) about 15 years ago. I've already saved myself at least 2 tickets. I will probably upgrade to the R7 at some point.

I live on the Central Coast of California with my wife and 5 dogs. I'm retired from one of the big airlines as a Boeing 767 Captain. I started a wealth management firm about 10 years ago and now have 105 or so clients.

Welcome captain! Good choice of detector. I'm sure you will find that the many souls here are full of knowledge.

Welcome from SoCal!

My wife and I spend a lot of time on the Central Coast, between our places in SoCal and Monterey.

Small world. I’m also FINRA registered on the origination side and work with some Captians of a major carrier.

Welcome!

Welcome from another Cali Member.

Good choice in detector as well as car! Running jammers or plan on it?
Eh... maybe. The issue is I’m at the age where I’m supposed to act it. I’m not sure my wife wants to hear any stories about me going 140 anywhere in Mexico.

Thank you. Looking next for the R7 perhaps later this year after the bugs are squashed.

Welcome from Michigan. Nice cars.
There are a few other pilots hanging out here.
Thank you!

Thankfully, I’m an ex-pilot. No more bag-dragging for me!

Well if you're at "that age" you may just be a bit forgetful and forget to tell your wife anything that may or may not have happened in Mexico... ;)

Thank you! Are you glad 1 is open again?

I have an RIA and a 65. No B-D for me; too complicated!

Well, they don’t call her “She Who Must be Obeyed” for nothing.

Very happy HWY 1 is open again! Our normal route to Monterey is via SLO/Morrow Bay, up HWY 1. If you time it correctly, NB, there is “almost” no tourist traffic and you get your own personal road course — as you know!

I hear you on RIAs, as I work with several of them on the Reg D side, as I’m a principal for an energy company.

Can anyone remember what happened in Mexico?

"Not I", said the Little Red Hen.

My wife--who has never been to Carmel/Monterey (she's a Texan)--and I are going to spend a mid-week getaway in Carmel probably in April and take Hwy 1 up and back.

I like being the boss of my own little fiefdom niche RIA business. No one to answer to except my clients and the regulators.
