Highway Patrol and State Police Identification Chart for all 50 US States. Good to know info. Know what to look for with "correctly marked" patrol cars in a state you might be traveling through.

I know for a fact, Colorado, Mississippi, Alabama, Kansas and Louisiana are properly identified.

*Hawaii is the only state without an agency that provides statewide uniformed patrol.[7]

I thought it was interesting seeing some referred to as State Police, State Trooper, Highway Patrol. Regardless...watch out for smoky bears.. :)

I haven't seen Montana Highway Patrol use the Crown Vics with that scheme for years now, but the new one is close and the Crown Vics might still be out there. Not sure how picky we're trying to be here, but this is a really cool find!

Pennsylvania is phasing out the graphics shown for the all gray with “TROOPER” down the side.

Any Tennessee residents in here? Back in December I saw a TN State Trooper driving what I thought was their color scheme in the familiar Gold on Black. Is that being phased out or did some Trooper have to drive an older model due to availability?

That chart is not correct for Tennessee. What you saw is what the THP colors are.

And it looks like white lettering, too. GSP also has dark grey patrol cars in addition to the blue and grey. It is quite the dilemma; you just have to assume GSP a lot

Louisiana has a ton of Tahoes and fewer Chargers along with a few remaining Crown Vics. The marked units aren't the ones to worry about nearly as much. although they are out there The "stealth" units are the real threat IMO because traffic doesn't recognize them quickly and change lanes/hit the brakes.
