Just drove 325 miles from Little Rock to Dallas in Hwy Mode with segment 5 turned off (24.195 – 24.205) for both DSP antennas (front behind bumper and rear on rear deck inside the vehicle). Lots of BSM offenders that usually punch through between 24.195 and 24.205 and there was SWEET SILENCE!

So yeah...happy to report that it was a significantly quieter ride. Loving this feature!

Many thanks to @BestRadarDetectors for getting this out to us.

I did have a BSM false at 24.194 that alerted normally, good stuff.

Feel free to add your own experiences with it in this thread.

Is this a route you drive typically/frequently and know what is used/not used?

Fantastic to hear! Seems like that will be a great solution for some needing a quieter ride :). The great thing is profile options will make it easy to turn that segment back on should you find the need.

Yes, I've driven this route many times and thankfully never seen that range of frequencies used for K band. There's really not a whole lot of K band along that stretch, but sometimes I've seen segments 2,3 & 4 from city LEOs. None from TX DPS who seem to really love their stalkers.

Yep for sure. I suppose it would make good sense to occasionally turn it back on just to make sure none have crept into the area. :)

I’ve also had a great experience with the notch filter. Much quieter ride...especially in city mode - quiet as a mouse for me.

Well here in Michigan the weather has been bad enough that they canceled school a good number of days this week so all the soccer mom's with the Pacifica's stayed home...so even the Redline was quiet!

Glad to hear you have had good success Hiddencam. Next week looks better weather wise so I will report when things get back to normal.

Yeah those Pacificas are bad. A few months ago I was approaching two brand new models of them (rolling one behind the other - in the left lane of the interstate of course) and had a bunch of K frequencies appear on my R1...then it alerted to 34.7! I was +20 at the time, so threw the anchor out, dropped back, alert disappeared, OK maybe IO. Few minutes pass and nothing so I move to pass the two Pacificas again, same deal, as I drew close to them, a bunch of Ks, then 34.7 again. LOL. I triple checked that it was indeed those two really causing the 34.7 false. I 'Nancy'd it' past them (just in case) and the 34.7 dropped off. Haven't seen that happen since...but then again, I haven't seen two Pacificas rolling in convoy since either.

Yeah, let us know what you think of the notch filter when you can. Seems like a decent stop-gap measure until they improve the BSM filtering. Slight risk I suppose. But I'm willing to take it.

I also have been running with Seg 5 off the from and rear Net DSP's antenna's. I also have turned off Seg 3 only on the rear for addition quietness. Seen to be working great. I also have only gotten 1 false @ 24.194. I drive in heavy North East Atlanta (Gwinnett) traffic and it makes a big difference in heavy traffic.

This is good news. Almost all of my BSM falses are in the notch range, and in my driving I haven't seen a LEO at that frequency range. It's worth the slight risk for my sanity.

Quick question- Do the Notch filters only work on the DSP version.
I have two old antennas, and keep getting punch throughs when only Notch 1 selected.

My Settings:
114500

Latest punchthroughs:
114501

Just to rule out a simple explanation, do you have the same segments selected for both front and rear antennae?

Yes, Notch filters are only effective on DSP Antennas because the digital antennas are much more accurate. The NR Analog derectors are accurate within +/- 30mhz which is way wider than the notches so its too risky to use them on Analog detectors.

just come to my mind. It would be nice to have under notifications direction info for radar and lidar.

Completely agree - instead of just "Radar", it'd be great to have the notification say "Radar Ka Ahead" or "Radar K Behind".

The ALP Connect app does give this info. As for the voice module I can't say first sure since I use it, but I think it gives directional info too if both front and rear sensors are installed. The control pad alone won't give directional info.

Specifically on notifications? I've never seen it. I think we're both talking about the specific situation of running ALP Connect in the background (Waze foreground). The iOS notification that pops up from ALP says only "Radar".

I was referring to the Android app which comes to the foreground during an alert. You're right, iOS can't do that.

There’s no reason an alert in iOS can’t include frequency and direction. V1Driver on iOS does that.
