Always been into cars and bikes, but not a real speed demon despite my screen name. Wife and I have a couple of small businesses that require us to own/operate commercial vehicles and simply can't afford even one ticket given what it might do to our insurance costs. So I figured with my new bike I should get some REAL protection for it in the form of a Laser Jammer/Shifter.

I'm leaning pretty hard toward the ALP, but not sure what my minimum setup should be given my location in Atlanta, the guns/types of laser used here and the rather small frontal/rear area of my new BMW S1000XR. Any and all input is appreciated as I try to learn more before throwing money at a solution.

Thanks and look forward to participating.

Welcome Speedyatl :) this is the right place to come for advice. Atl is the home of the dragoneye Lidar, which is the hardest one to face so you will need a good setup to beat it, you do have smaller coverage area, but the dragon does require multiple heads to defeat due to how they work together. I can't specifically say for a bike, but I know there are folks here with ALP on bikes that may have some specific tips. look around and jump in with any questions. if you want install advice I'd post a thread over in the laser jammer placement section and folks can jump in to help you out. Thanks Bravo. Yes I got a little carried away with my intro and rolled it into a question. In the next couple of days I'll collect my thoughts and maybe even a pic or two and see what the collective can recommend for me.

Thank you.

Welcome!

What type of commercial vehicle are you using? I'm not sure about GA specifically, but their definition of commercial vehicle may play into the legality of the LJ.

Thanks riseboi. The LJ are not for the commercial trucks, they are for my new bike. I'm on our commercial policy so I can't afford to get a ticket on my bike as it will adversely effect our business auto insurance policy premium as they do a review every year.

Welcome to the Forum. That BMW is one fast ride. I am more of the RS1200 type!

The ALP would be a very nice choice.

Welcome to the RDF!

Great info here and several two wheelers on here. I have two bikes but so far only run a Passport on one and a V1 on the other.

Have you checked the BMW cycle Forum or any of the other bike Forums? A quick search there might find something interesting.
