Long story short, I have spent the last week or so reading on here before deciding to join up. I have recently come into possession of a Beltronics radar detection system as well as a ALP jamming system with 5 heads. It came off of a friends car that they were trading in. They offered that I could have it if I uninstalled it for them before trading in their BMW X1.

My goal here is to try to decide if I want to keep it and install in on my E90, or just sell it and repay myself for the labor spent removing it. I am at a crossroads. I don't really know if I want to go down the rabbit hole on these systems or not. Than again, I realize its a pretty impressive and expensive system that I was fortunate enough to not have to buy. I had to cut the wiring for the rear sensors to fit through the body of the vehicle, but I did cut them near where the original installer cut them so I would just need to repair those.

Anyways, I look forward to reading up more on what I have and what it would take to install on my car and get set up correctly. Posting pics of everything I got because who doesn't love pics on a forum right?

Welcome to the RDF!

Well right out of the gate you have Lidar protection and a remote RD, but it isn't installed in anything, Doh!

Well depending on if one is a spirited driver or not, I would install the ALP adding a TX head up front if I were a spirited driver!

Welcome. You scored on getting those for no dough.
Whether its worth it to put them on your vehicle depends on where you are and how much you speed.

Thanks for the welcome.

I do have a heavy foot, but I also live in a very rural area of the state. The local cops sit in the same places and are very predictable. It took a while to get it all uninstalled with minimal cutting of wires. I imagine if I installed it on my car, it would need to be re-calibrated also. It did give me piece of mind every time I drove my friends car with it installed though.

The ALP is a excellent choice.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I am still trying to decide if I should install it or just sell it all. I just don't think I drive enough in areas where it would be worth the time to install and set up.
