I noticed recently that my R3 started to give tons of laser alerts while driving locally. Previous to these alerts I made some adjustments to my Ka sensitivity. Nothing else was touched in my settings. Is there something I need to change to hide these alerts?

What kind of phone do you have and where do you put it while driving? I have a Samsung S9 and the proximity sensor plays havoc with the R3 laser detection.

I’ve been using my iPhone X and have had this RD since last June. Never had an issue before, I’m on firmware 1.48.

No I run laser on but I've never had a false or an alert at this point.
I was the lucky recipient of a laser ticket though..

I do off... No need for it.

They should stop spending money on that technology, it doesn't work and it would probably drop down the price of our detectors.

Running iPhone XS Max and neither my first batch R3 nor my new matte black R3 have ever alerted Laser. In fact even if I aim the phone at it while Face ID is trying it still won’t alert. It’s probably something else causing it for you and nothing to do with your phone. When you flashed 1.48 did you perform a factory reset afterwards? I would try reflashing 1.48 in Recovery Mode. And do a reset before and after the flash.

I’m just trying to figure out why this is all of a sudden happening? Is there a fix besides turning it off?

I guess that probably is a good suggestion!

Good Advice!

Also, try a different FW if it still has issues such as 1.37. If that doesn't work, contact Uniden.

Just to add to that, I had an iPhone 8, and upgraded to a Xr and never had a laser flase on my my R3. As well, my 18 BMW has bluetooth wireless with Idrive 6, wireless charging, and the M performance exhaust where you can press a bluetooth button to open the exhaust, so lots of electrical in the car never a false..

Juat out of curiosity what make/model car do you have? Is it possible some cars internally cause laser falses more than others?

I just bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado 100 centennial edition. As I said it was working fine until very recently.

I dont think those are known to cause a false. An option for now, without sending the unit to have checked, is to turn laser off. For effective defense against lidar you need a good LJ setup.

Do you have access to another car to use with the RD for a day or so? I think I've read before that electrical interference and/or high RPMs have caused false alerts.

Not in my pickup truck, I traded in my Charger for this. Laser jammer would’ve been great in the Charger.
My other vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler. I could try my setup in that and see if I have the same problem. My truck does have a lane sensing camera on the front windshield. I can turn it off to see if there’s a difference!
