I can tell you first hand that Fairfax City has spectre. Got caught with who knows what RD it was at the time (2001), about 2:00AM as the only car on the road. He pulled a U-turn to pull me over. Took it and gave it back. Forget how much the ticket was. But ever since never had issues in all of NOVA with STIR+ and RCM visiting family.

he gave it back because if you choose to use it, it's a ticket that keeps on giving. :)

It's the ones that they noticed hanging without detecting that become the problem. :)

HODOR! :)

Most likely a VG-2, VSP and many local agencies used them until the late 2000's when they were replaced with Spectres.

I still think that using something like an r3 or even an r7 that does not give out a huge 1000 feet print should be fine

I use to run my v1 in va all the time. I now use a r7. I mount it high near the sun visors. My windows and front windshield are tinted so it hard to see unless you’re up close. My v1, r7 and all have saved me many times in va. My friend who actually lives in va has a tint strip on all His car and run his max 360 right below it and it damn near not noticeable.
I believe a radar ticket is around $90 plus court cost.

I’ll be be going through VA soon- NC to Richmond. Will have R1. It may be totally immune or short range detectable per @Vortex ’s latest test. I will need to mount low on dash, and run in dark mode at night.

I’ve used dark mode a few times but it is dark and then lights up with an alert (don’t want that). What’s the dark mode settings where it’s only audible alert?
Let me know when you hit the border, might hide in the weeds and shoot ya for target practice, like I do @Kennyc56
