Would love to see QT bench test on reactivity of 1.48 vs 1.37 with TSF ON @OBeerWANKenobi :)
@hiddencam has some reactivity videos he had previously posted in intermediate that he might post elsewhere now that it's released?

I also did some testing as hiddencam mentioned earlier. I'm in China right now so YouTube is blocked and the ones I sent hiddencam are raw testing/brainstorming videos. He's welcome to edit them and post them as he sees fit or I can make some new ones next week when I'm back in the states.

Generally, reactivity is right there with 1.37 on stronger signals. There is no reason to stay on 1.46, that's for sure. More testing needs to be done on k band sensitivity as my initial results pointed towards a slight reduction but the results were inconsistent and need real scenario testing. So far this release seems promising.

I updated to 1.48 and used my bushnell to test - I had significant delays in response - dropped back to 1.37 and it picks it up quickly as usual - take this with a grain of salt as it is possible I was over-driving the RD from where I was testing, but the 360 and R3 on 1.37 never seem to mind in the exact situation, just the R3 on 1.48 it seems.

I will wait on more formal testing/experiences to be logged before I update again.

I did the update but before I hook my R3 back up do all your old settings hold? I'm going to do a reset but I want to jot down my settings prior to. I forgot to do that prior to loading 1.48.
On the last update all my settings were still there.

The R3 can’t do that.
It can. In Advanced mode you get to choose your sensitivity for each band. Factory’s City mode leaves Ka alone, but that’s why Advanced mode is there for you to do whatever you like.

No. It doesn’t jump sensitivity related to speed.

Sorry I stand corrected. I thought he asked if it jumped back.
I realize now that he was wondering what the sensitivity level is of Ka Band when switching from highway to city.

My bad.

It has to be tested. Im not sure if the level has stayed the same % wise as the FW’s have changed.

So, on city. Ka is still at 100% and doesn’t lose any sensitivity?? Is there more filtering for K band in city though? Wondering if I should just use that. I already have K at 30% on advanced

Filtering doesn’t change based on mode. Modes exclusively pertain to sensitivity levels for each band. City cuts back K-band down to like 15% or so. If you can safely use it (still get decent K alerts believe it or not), it helps make it half deaf to BSMs. That may make it seem like it’s filtering BSMs differently, but really it’s just dialing sensitivity way back.

I wish in Advanced they’d let you dial back to 10% instead of putting a floor at 30%.

In Highway and City modes, yes, Ka is 100%. In Advanced you get to set Ka to whatever level you want, down to 30% IIRC.
Really? There’s no detection range difference of Ka Band between City and Highway?

Or am I reading it wrong?

Really.
KA remains 100% in City mode.
KA also remains normal operation in Quiet Ride.

My observations after a 20 mile drive in light traffic around town after dark were mixed. I had one full blast LASER! alert that was annoying. It was definitely a false alert, not a legit LIDAR hit. Also had a few K falses around the usual BSM frequencies, and some door openers. No false Ka alerts. I did get a couple of legit 35.5 C/O encounters that had nice ramp-up and typical early warning.
I stared out with X off, K-wide with K-filter on , K-POP off, TSF on and MRCD on (out of curiosity; we don't have any MRCD threats around here). After driving around and getting a few false K alerts, I went to Advanced with K at 50% and turned MRCD off. I still need some time behind the wheel with 1.48 to tweak my K band settings, and some time in typical heavy traffic to see how the BSM filtering is now.
Have you picked up legit K above 24.200 yet
