There's an intermediate level thread I posted recently showing the QT performance of 1.48 vs a Bushnell. It's a much more reactive detector compared to 1.46.

My general impression driving with 1.48 for several road trips is really good (AR, LA, MS, TX). I have no plans to roll back to 1.37. BSM seems equivalent to 1.37.

KA seems as impressively sensitive as 1.37.

Can't speak much to laser falsing and MRCD falsing, other than zero falses when I've had them turned on (limited time only).

The whisper from @OBeerWANKenobi's attenuation box testing is that 1.48 may have slightly less raw sensitivity than 1.37. More testing is needed on that. And a proper course test for long-range K sensitivity really should be done to confirm that suspicion. The Eccosorb box he used may not be indicative of real world "toughest scenario", although you would think it should do a fair job replicating vegetation and off-axis signals, right?.

@Brainstorm69 might be ready to share some thoughts on reactivity versus a tougher legitimate K band gun.

Bottom line: If you're on 1.46 you definitely want to upgrade to 1.48 or downgrade to 1.37. If you're on 1.37 and like it, maybe stick to what you love. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I upgraded this afternoon. All seems well. Had a nice 34.7 GHz detection while out cruising. I'll have to leave it to the others to determine whether that 2 second K band delay has been dealt with.

Thanks to all !

Okay, took the plunge. I like what I see so far. Seems less sensitive to BSM's. What I noticed was....around my neighborhood..we have K band above the lights. (they sit on top and look like the old photo projectors that would turn with each slide)

Before 1.46 would pick those up miles away. Full tilt (which I of course, muted)...Now it only picks them up when I'm VERY CLOSE and shows 1 bar instead of 5. It seems like some good filtering is going on.

Hondas.....2 it ignored completely. And they had BSM on...I could see it when I went in their blind spot. One it went off, but very little, and I had to be very close to them.

I wish they would have put more in the notes, instead of just the 2 items. That seems a little bizarre! :bravo2:

Maybe they're from the camp of under-promising and over-delivering. I'll take that all day over elaborate claims with unequal results.

Sounds promising. What were your K settings?

I don't hear anyone speaking about the Ka Band full tilt Ramp up of 1.47. Some of us had this where you would get a seemingly close IO burst followed by a pegged out meter no matter the distance.
I had this on two R3's in the 1.47 FW.

Back to 1.37 was a fix and better BSM or falsing rates.

But...... I'll try the 1.48. Thanks Guys. I would like distance testing for Ramp-Up become a testing regimen standard.

Pro/Con to running TSF on? Does it help with BSM filtering? No traffic sensors here in my area.
I believe some members here reported reduced BSM falsing/negligible reduction on range on 1.37, but the opposite results on 1.46.

Understood. Thanks. I will try on and off with 1.48 and see if I notice any difference.

I’m going to put it in tonight, but it’ll be like a butt dyno test.

It’s too cold (10*F), and late to mess with it too much with a gun.

I see that the zipped files carry a 2019 date but the install file carry an October 4, 2018 date. Hopefully that means nothing???

I'm gonna stay with 1.37 for now. 1.48 sounds very promising. Let's see how the "field testing" goes.
