Hi everyones,

I get a Genevo One M because of Uniden R1 was useless in my country (we have Gatso RT2 radars in unmarked car).
Genevo suggest the vertical holder in order to increase the detection of this kind of radar (for the polarization of the radar beam I believe).
I found this video on the net
The country is Lituania and Gatso RT4 detection is improved in vertical position.
Do you have ever tested (for those living in places where Gatso Radars are used) vertical vs horizontal position?
Putting in vertical holder detection of K band low power radars or MRCD is improved too ? Or it will be decreased?
Thanks for your reply....

Turning a detector vertical or at the angle shown in the video will normally help with range for most low powered vertically or horizontally-cant remember which (or at least non-circular) polarised radar sources.

Be careful doing this if you also face standard Ka or K, as the range is likely to be reduced on this.

Does mounting this vertical help reduce blind spot monitoring falsing that shows up as GATSO (or MRCD/MRCT)? From my experience, the BSM falses go up being shown as MRxx on mine.

Wonder if this mount is worth adding to accessory list on Radenso web site, @Jon at Radenso?

BSM observation is interesting to note!

See: What's the difference between Radenso and Genevo?
For differences between Radenso and Genevo.

Genevo are already listing the vertical mount accessory on their website. GENEVO.COM | Accessories

MRCD is not even detected in vertical position.

I tried this a few years ago with different detectors while standing in front of MRCD: Detection is getting weaker and weaker when turning the detector from horizontal to vertical position. When the RD reaches a certain angle, the signals are not detected anymore.

I think this is the reason why "RDinaction" tried also 45° to get the most out of two worlds: Vertical position (Multanova 6F, GATSO) and horizontal position (MRCD,....).

Hi! I have a Genevo one M, and it’s falling on all new cars and tellin that it’s multaradar!
And its running really hot! Can anyone tell me what is normal operating temperature for this detector (genevo one m)?

Hi! I run my detector like this! And it is picking up everything just fine! It’s illegal to use detectors of any kind over in Latvia, so this is kinda best stealthy look what you can get. Still range is really good on Ka band and RT4 radars! We don’t have MRCD or MRCT over here!

I don't have a One M, but use the Pro M by Radenso which is a cousin of the One M

Mine gets pretty darn warm too and I think it's normal, the temp range is certainly hotter.

My Pro falses MRCT to some vehicles, but it's been improved quite a bit such that it's the quietest RD I've owned regardless.

Hi,

I have ordered the vertical mount to get the best detection for Gatso Radar.

Where I live (France) we have embarqued (in ordinary car) RT2 Gatso Radar.

I never had the opportunity to test the detection of this radar because of they aren't in fixed road installation.

The differencies between the RT2 and RT3 or 4 is the antenna diameter.

RT2 get the bigger antenna so the detection should be easier.

Genevo suggest to put it in vertical position in order to increase the Gatso detection.

For sure MRCT will be decreased at the same time.

I see that you set it in horizontal position.

And do you have a good detection this way?

How many meters before gatso trap?

Very interested in your opinion.

Is that alerting you that you’re approaching a known speed camera location, is it independently detecting it? If it’s purely a detection, how does it know how far away it is?

It’s a known place and gps warning is on

Here is a video i just made to show you guys the range of Gatso rt 4 :)
You get a good detection in horizontal position for Gatso RT4.
For sure you'll get better detection in vertical position.
Can you test it in vertical settings telling us if the range improves :) ?

comparison, vertical vs horizontal if the speedcamera is facing away from you you have no chance in latvia if youre over the limit
No chance even if vertical you think?

I think the best chance of away from you (which like you said is virtually impossible to detect) is like the rabbit theory in some way. You ideally want other cars travelling in front or in the other direction to bounce the signal so that your radar detector could pick it up.
