It should be interesting to see how many think arrows are worth 600.00 (1 Viewer)

I have an R1 that fills my needs nicely. For 600 more, arrows are not worth it for me. The few % more sensitivity I can do without. The somewhat V1 ish looks don't impress me. I'm not a tech chaser for sure (G3 LG phone), but I have stuff that works and does what's needed. Not all will be able to pony up 6 bills when their R1/R3 series does the trick. If your pockets are deep enough by all means go for it. Unidens meat and potatoes buyers aren't all enthusiasts that +10 over is just a starting point. It will be interesting though...

Yeah, looks awesome, but I think it should be 500 tops.. its just not the deal the R1 was.. its not blowing away the competition. I'm guessing when the price drops to 400 in a few years I'll buy it.

@BestRadarDetectors could probably tell you that if he wanted to by divulging how many people he has on the waiting list.

Appearances are whatever, many may prefer the larger display/driver oriented view, others may dislike for a variety of reasons (including desire for a V1 style concealed display). If autolockout comes to the R3, and if the BSM is the same on R7 as R3 - I can't see buying an R7 at the list price.

What's not doing the trick for me (on R3) is BSM filtering. That would make it worth it to put the R3 in the drawer or re-gift to a family member if the R7 was noticeably better. However, it's apparently the same as the R3 (by all currently available info).

I just don't see buying an R7 at launch unless the testing indicates some marked (and greater than a couple percent) improvement in one of these areas.

This is just me though... If you're in an area with $$$ tickets and insurance impact from said tickets, and they're using MRCD below 24.050 - that might be a notable improvement on its own to lump in with the others. For me, that's not a big deal, because I don't see that range of K band nor is MRCD in use in my area...

I'm on the waiting list and unlikely to buy at launch, I'm more interested on seeing final product images/description when available, and to see when the actual launch happens (if it is delayed).

I love my R3 but trust me when I say it is getting donated when the R7 becomes available. My single biggest gripe is not knowing what direction the source is transmitting from. The R7 will sell well.

By the time the R7 ships I will have a solid 2 years out of my R3 and during that time the R3 paid for itself more than once.

Considering how much I have spent on watches lately, $600 is nothing and for something that will pay for it self over its life time makes that ROI even sweeter. And I never pay MSRP for anything, I go out of my way to find a deal and justify the purchase by the deal, But the R7 I will gladly pay retail for.

However, I will wait and see what Radenso's big announcement is.

I want to say it won't be worth it but my Redline was around $500 and turned out to be worth every penny.... Since this thing looks like my Valentine, will I love it as much?

Considering people will pay $650 for the Max360c, I'm sure Uniden will have no trouble selling the R7 for $600.

$600 is fair to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if the v2 was in that ball park once released.

Yup exactly if the current R1/3 satisfies for what you need then great, its a fantastic unit that will serve you well. If others have the $ and want the R7 they will, we are lucky to have great choices...

I had never really subscribed to the importance of arrows when I ran Escort products. Range in my area just trumps it. Then, I got the Stinger VIP with front and rear patch. You really gain a lot of situational awareness with a front and rear antenna. Do you need it, not really. But, if a R7 equals a R3 on range, the arrows work they way they should and BSM filtering is at least as good as now, it would be worth it to me.

I believe you are correct, Insipid. There will be people lined up for that performance and feature set at $600. There's nothing else like it.

It's going to sell well..We've been wanting an all in one windshield detector with ultimate range and here it is. Arrows make it worth it, but I can understand if you've never ran any detector with arrows. I'll certainly be buying one

I've owned a V1 now for I think 20 years and having gone to the Redline years ago as my travel detector and then the R3 (still keeping the V1 in my weekend car) I miss arrows.

In my wifes DD I put ALPs with front and rear NET Radar antennas on my last road trip in it I ran my R3 and having the rear antenna made a huge difference so Arrows are a must in my opinion.

Its the right price point and is also necessary to keep the R1 and R3 alive
A lower R7 price point would cripple the R3s market value
Trust me
They know this

The arrows is why I always go.back to the v1 over everything else I've owned. Well, jbv1 also helps, but the v1 is by far the most reliable and the best all-round detector. I look at the r7 as a V1 on steroids and I'm all in. It's what all the true enthusiast here have wanted for so long.
