Valentine One Radar Detector Euro Mode

Take a gander, not saying Junk-K Fighter plays well with multaradar, but the capability with the horn has been there for a while. Kinda makes for an interesting topic I'd like to touch on that's related to Radenso's Pro M.

VR even mentions multaradar in that tech report.

Thanks for that !! Wonder why Uniden didnt implement it that low too but thats another thread .

Now will it detect the Redflex Units becoming more popular in their area ??

V1 does detect low power Redflex. Mine has for many years, but the range is adequate at best, 80 - 180 metres. Luckily a Hyundai or VW van parked in an unlikely place is a dead giveaway, as is the twin antenna Redflex pole mounts.

Do you run in Euro mode or is the signal above 24.050?

I get what your saying and where your coming from.

Tom @BestRadarDetectors has already stated that the tooling isn’t even ready. The March April release date is a target, but not set in stone. It depends what the beta testers come up with. It could be 6 months away when polished up.

What it does do is damper the sales of existing stock of R3’s that they may have and need to move with the margins they have set for their business plan. It’s not like a FW update which drives sales of a current product.

A simple Google search should bring up information you might want on the R7. So if your in the market, and do a simple search, why jump on an R3 now, when something better is around the corner?

The advertising is great.... if your ready for it. It’s detrimental if your not.

You can get a refurbished r3 for $299 so half the price of the new r7 that may convince many buyers. Even at $399 it is $200 cheaper. I bought a r3 to see if I like it... Now I know I really want a r7.

Yep, Euro mode. Detected freqs have ranged from 24.010 to 24.080

Just changed my vote from (paraphrased) 'Might try the R7 but not replacing my V1' to "No".
With the Radenso/Kuni news, I'm not currently convinced that the R7 will be king of the hill.

What I would love to see (and some others have said the same) is a well built dual-horn detector with great BSM handling and API access for those that want to use it. And a remote display option too. If Radenso builds such a unit and Valentine doesn't respond, I can see a lot of people reconsidering their stance.

I think it is too early to tell how this will effect Uniden. We all know that Kuni had a big part in Beta testing though and R7 beta testing is supposed to start sometime next month. I think while this is going on we will get good insight into the path Uniden is going down. I'm going to be watching how the Beta goes closely. I'm expecting big things from Radenso as well especially with Kuni on their team. The PRO M is one of the top detectors currently. For the next gen Radenso I would like a accurate frequency display, Arrows, maintaining great BSM filtering , Auto GPS lockouts and a open API would be gravy. Still keeping my fingers crossed that Valentine brings a big update to the V1 as well...

First one to do this for the next generation of detectors gets my money. :cashwallet:

And not until then.

I was amazed that Uniden were a one man band to that extent. It's a testament to Kunis talent, and also a worry that a company allows itself to be vulnerable to that extent.
It confirms my decision to stay clear of Uniden for now.

I'll bet most of us V1 users aren't the "zombies" that others might think we are.

I'll be sticking with the V1 for a while yet. It was already hard to decide between the R3 and the Pro M (I own both). With the recent news, I will definitely be waiting until well after the new models come out before I make any new purchase decisions.

Will I ditch my V1? Nah. I'll be honest, I've gotten pretty used to the amount of information that JBV1 provides me.

But after the initial rush on R7s die down and we get some real-life reviews on the forums, I can easily see us picking up one for the new car we just bought.

Nope, V1 4EVA.

If only because of apps and box muting. Without it my daily commute is a brutal routine of frequent K-band falses from Acura/Honda BSM systems in the 24.196 - 24.210 range. Only the V1 w/app and Radenso Pro M's "SNarrow" can notch out that range currently (and at 24.085 - 24.185 this is a bit too narrow for me though). Plus I prefer the info an app gives VS the lack of information the Pro M offers.

I'm also not a fan of OLED displays during the day, I find them difficult to read. The V1 and Max360's LED based arrows win every time.

The V1 isn't perfect, but paired with an app it's the closest I've found so far.

I'm sure the R7 will be popular, but I can already tell it's not for me.
