Yes, along with most here.
There are going to be a whole lot of R1's, R3's, 360's and V1's going for bottom dollar in the "for sale section" a few weeks prior to it's release.

I think I'm going to wait for a bit to see how firmware looks.

Still hanging onto mine for testing. And not everyone wants arrows. Or can justify blowing $600 on a detector. If they improve R3 BSM and add auto lockouts, it may go to my dad to replace the DFR7 I got him. The R3 will remain a great choice for many.

I wish I had a dollar for everyone who said they weren't going to buy an R3 because they were happy with their LRD950....and then bought an R3.

Maybe but referring to the R series, why would people fire sale the current king of range, just because a new model with the same range has arrows?

Same reason people fire sale'd their LRD950's the moment they read about the new "game changing R3".
That's just what people do.

Possibly because the R7 should have the same range in both directions where the R1 and R3 can not.

The impulsive buyer in me says Yes, but I'm curious about the mount. It appears to be a new mount that will sit more centered vs toward the end like on the R3. I want to maintain a permanent mount high up on the windshield so I may need to wait for aftermarket mounts to become available.

The mount is the same as the DFR7. Lots of those already out there.

The mounting will be the same as the DFR7/LRD950 according to Vortex so there's existing support for them

For us in the draconian part of NA, unless it comes with a concealed display, similar to the STi-R Plus display, that can be mounted anywhere, I'll pass. Don't know what the point would be getting one in a banned area, if you have to hide it in a visor case, and can't see what the threat is. I know it will have audio alerts as well, but unless they incorporate directional audio alerts, not just the band, it won't be practical for us. Hopefully they make it with a concealed display.

<~~is very very content with my R3 in the front and R1( running Ka only for the rear to get maximum range ) Plus I'm protected with my ALP in the front and rear for my laser jammer and my wife's car has a TMG.
If I didn't have the R3 and R1, I would purchase the R7.
I believe I have a lot of money invested in my counter measures and feel fully protected with them.
At this time, I have no need to invest in another $600 for another rader detector ( just to have ).
Though, I can afford it but at this time I rather buy other fun things I don't need.
I voted...Maybe later.

Arrows would be a benefit to identifying threats. No doubt about that. BSM issues remain by biggest pet peeve. So I will sit back and watch how this unfolds.

Same range in both directions? Are you sure? The front horn on the R7 will be the same as the R3 and R1 but the rear horn most likely be smaller with less range then the front with the new R7.
