The proof is in the pudding... I'm not interested in arrows at the expense of sensitivity... Escort screwed the pooch on this so let's hope Uniden doesn't. If same results as R3 + Arrows then I will be the first to give my money. If however the results come back similar to Max360 then people who really want arrows will be able to pick that up cheaper. You can bet Max360 is dropping in price very soon

So about 400 units? If so, that's 100 more than the first batch of R3s you got IIRC. I say that $200K supply will sell out in 3 hours or less.
It would be gone in 1 hour! I remember the launch of the r3. I'm sure there will be a huge supply issue though at first so I wouldn't doubt Uniden can only provide Tom with a 200k order.

Escort isn't dropping their price...they live in a world where they think the R3 doesn't exist....I'm sure it will be the same with the R7. Escort really thinks their name is what makes people buy their products....I'm sure it does but I bet their sales are significantly down since the r3 came out.

We need a new drinking game!!!
No kidding, where to begin.....................

Can a shape/design be patented?
Maybe, Harley's potatoe, potatoe sound.
For canucks buying from Kmph ....what price would it be ?

$600 us X 1.35 = $ 810 cdn ...or even higher

If we need to hide the R7 , would the rd speak loud the threat : front /rear/side ?
Bring hand to side of your mouth, put pinky finger tip to corner of mouth and say....1 million dollars.

Huge thanks to Uniden (@UnidenSupport) for handling this (early release) mess in a mature manner and ultimately announcing the R7! It looks so sexy, here, just take my money! Any plan for inverted display?

Huge thanks to @Vortex for the professional video release with the information needed to start the fire!

You can bet your ass they will. They never had to before because there was never really competition.. the V1 is a dog.. it's the truth.. no one wanted 3 different boxes to connect to accomplish what 360 did in one. Almost need to have an engineering degree to get the V1 optimized...hahahahah

We actually knew about this in early 2018 when word was leaked that Uniden USA was working on a dual horn, ala, V1 unit. It was silent after that, BUT I'd say we've had an inkling for at least a year now. Tom @BRD can confirm our "suspicions."

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

The Max360 and R1/3 weren't HOT enough??
The Max360? Definitely NOT hot enough. No M4 rehash for me. The R1/R3? Yes!

Out of curiosity, I tried to figure out the general size of the R7 based on a scale using the R3 as a reference. My math skills are rusty and I used a ruler against my monitor (lol) to measure scale, so go easy on me if I'm totally off!

Based on my measurements the R7 will be roughly 3.70" (front)/2.94" (rear) X 1.56" X 4.69". That seems really freaking big!

A website listed the R3 size specs as 2.7" X 1,2" X 4.3" (I'm just assuming they are correct. Too lazy to go down to my car to check.)

Do those calculations appear realistic to you?

Oops, it should read 1.09Y for the vertical (depth) scale reference.

I'm so Glad I sold that V1 last year and sold everything else and bought 3 of the Uniden R3s .
Mike and the V1 are dead in the water when this drops why in the hell would anyone ever buy a V1 going forward after the R7 is available , I don't want a second phone and all the junk needed to run the V1...:ughh:

Seeing as you're partnered with one of the biggest turds in the industry who leaked Uniden's confidential information....Maybe you won't be :)
That was a nice "****ty" dig.

First Prototype plans I saw were in 2016.. it's been being developed a long time.

Awesome, I didn't realize it was that long. We might should then expect they've got their ducks in a row as far as refinement of arrow behavior and ramp. If they've got those two thing sorted then it's gonna be a sweet treat to use. The V1 just works so well for those two things so can't wait to see if they've come close or surpassed VR.

One thing that jumps to mind is that we know the R1/3 bogey tone behavior was initially underdeveloped, and it took some beta team suggestions to get it right (remember the repetition behavior for frequencies only 1 or 2 mhz away). And that applied only for Ka band, with no K or X bogey tones. So it'll be interesting to see if the additional X and K bogey tones are adequately handled when multiple threats of different bands comes along.

Good thing we had the server upgrades before we got hit back to back with TMG and then R7...

This is just a third tier... of course R3 sales are going to take a hit but that’s because there’s a higher option. There’s still going to be a demand on every level. Uniden continues to support the DFR series and I expect that the R3 will be the same way with this new layer.
R7 is also a higher price point and many average buyers will think arrows are overkill

Super excited about this considering how much I love my R3. My only wonder is, how well do rear antennas work through window tint? My rear windows are all blacked out with 4% tint, so there would really be no point in me upgrading to the R7 if the rear antenna isn't very effective.

I posted some thoughts here, but it will be interesting to see how the arrows work considering how the current R series ramp saturates well before you reach the source. If both front and rear are reporting max signal within half a mile of the source, the arrows aren't going to be very informative.

Thanks.. I was also assured that there would be very restricted sales on these models and only a handful of companies will be able to offer it. We will be one of those companies and we will place a $200k order as soon as the sku's are setup..
You can have full payment up front from me I'm ready to hop in line ;)

I agree Monkey! Even after all these years that's the one thing nobody has been able to even come close to yet! That would be V1's awesome ramp! Just like you said, the R1 and R3 are pegged out and screaming bloody murder in my case at least a mile away from the source on every test that I do with my guns. Around here that doesn't matter because all we get is point blank I/O shots, so the ramp really needs to smack you in the mouth! In areas where you face C/O however, the V1 has no equal when it comes to its ramp, at least compared to all of the detectors that I have ever seen and used.
