As inspired by
@KrazyK

Improved detector body/shell/casing I would be very impressed if this was made of aluminum, magnesium, or rubberized plastic coating similar to Line X, Rhino Liner, Gator Hyde etc...
Improved filtering to BSM systems, MRCD/MRCT falsing
Improved display screen to address any "burn in" issues. DONE!
Improve laser detection capabilities.
Higher quality mounting system to facilitate mounting/ dismounting the detector and also provide an additional visor mount.
Power connection input port moved to right side of unit. DONE!
Firmware updates should be via WiFi and include a Bluetooth connection. Reach a deal with Google/Waze to enable CSA ala JBV1.
Although the unit shown was only a mock up, place mute button on face of unit as I prefer to run high and tight on the windshield. DONE! Doesn't seem like it's hard to reach on the side of unit

Lets hear your thoughts folks.

Sub 24.050 GHz K band detection for complete Redflex cam detection (at least on a Intl / NZ / AU model if not possible on the NA model)

I actually am a HUGE fan of voice alerts.

I think it would be pretty cool if it could say front or rear.

For example, "front, 34.7xx' "rear 34.7xx"

At night, in dark/off mode we'd have the chance to know exactly where its coming from if the arrows are off(and me, like some people like to run all blacked out).

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

mods, can we sticky this?

More time to not hear the signal ramp though. Maybe they could just lower the volume of the alert while the voice is talking instead of completely interrupting it? Heck, that would be a good feature on the R1 and R3 as well. I'll have to check and see if that's in the feature request thread.

No reason to sticky yet Nick. The product isnt even released yet and we arent even 100 percent sure what features it will have until released.

For me,
Improved Laser detection,
Auto GPS lockouts
Open API
Improved BSM

Really looking forward to this. Yet again today I was reminded why I like the arrows on my V1.

that was quick. already trying to improve upon something we have zero knowledge about. only here.
Thread should probably be called something like R7 wish list or something of the sorts... For me it is more about excitement and things I would like to see as now we don't have much information on it.

Yes I was confused that this was breaking news. Why post this now if actual info might come out today?

Uniden needs to really improved their concealed display unit, it's easily the worst of the bunch (except for Radenso who doesn't even have a CD unit). It should be up to the caliber of the V1's CD at least.

It’s a non-starter. I must run dark and still know what time it is. Nosy drivers do exist. Some of those spectators are not conducive to a relaxing drive.

Just please have silent startup so the only time I ever hear noise from this is when it is detecting something or scrolling through the menu.

Inverted display. May not be a hugely popular request but I have my R3 mounted on left side, beside A pillar so currently, the OLED screen would face the side window unless I could invert it. The OLED screen, facing to one side the way it does will cause an issue for anything other than a central (under mirror, dash) mount.

Let's not forget how big the jump is from the R3 to the R7. Adding dual antennas for arrows and auto-lockout capabilities requires a significant amount of engineering, and this will be the first time either Attowave or Uniden will be releasing such a detector.

I hope the increase from a 5 segment to 8 segment signal strength meter means they have increased the dynamic range of the detector as well. The extreme sensitivity of the current R series platform causes the signal strength to max out well before you reach the source (a half mile or more in many cases), and I'm not sure how well arrows would work if both antennas are reporting max signal strength over a long distance.

Let's also hope they are taking advantage of modern hardware and implementing auto-lockouts more similar to the V1 apps than Escort's buggy implementation that has had its share of issues (eg locking out LEOs).

The BSM filter will also need to improve just to match the current R series level of performance due to the addition of the rear horn and the wider K band range. I wonder how many of the MRCD/MRCT falses seen with the Radensos are due to sub-24.050GHz signals as well?

Luckily, Uniden has already assembled a "dream team" of beta testers here on the forum that spent countless hours testing and providing feedback to make the current R series a success. The R7 beta testers certainly have their work cut out for them, but I know they're up for it! The next few months will be interesting for sure :)
