So not sure where the right location for this post is. So apologies if this is the wrong location.
Yesterday I got a false alarm for the Poliscan when one of the new Audi A8s drove in the opposite direction.
As you may know the new (D5) Audi A8 is the most advanced "ready for autonomous driving" car out there right now.

Only ran into one of these cars once so far, checking to see if others have experienced the same?

The new Audi's use a laser scanner that uses a similar pulse rate and the output is very strong and they will cause false alerts. Europe is investigating if its possible to ignore them without risking real threats. It will take some time to analyze the new technology that Audi is using.

Hopefully not an issue with Poliscan and TraffiStar S350 being very similar in algo and in use simultaneously in EU and AU countries

Not sure I follow? I think there is a known issue that we do get the false alarms from the Audi systems?

What I was trying to say was that hopefully it is easy for AL's engineering team to filter the new Audi, without compromising the detection of the Poliscan and the S350.

AL's false filtering is already very good. If the Audi is causing a poliscan false, even with poliscan false rejection turned on, it must be very similar in nature to the real poliscan algo, hence may be difficult to filter out.

I see. Not sure if Poliscan is used in my area (US, Northeast)?
To clarify - I have the false rejection tunred on, but also have poliscan jamming turned on.
If there are no Poliscans in my area, I would disable Poliscan jamming.

Correct, I believe they are only mainly found in MD in USA ?

Since these are now landing in the US/Canada market, can you please post an update if/when this is resolved (if it is?). Thanks!

I never had a Laser false from Audi with my ALP. Poliscan is switched on, Poliscan False Rejection is switched off.
After 2 years with this settings i only had two laser falses, one "Camea" False (not used in Germany), and a Poliscan false at May 2018 from a unknown source.

If it let you run into it, I guess it isn't "the MOST advanced "ready for autonomous driving" car out there right now" after all! :happyanim:

The highway death toll will go through the roof if the NTSB ever allows autonomous driving vehicles on the road in bulk without ALL vehicles networked to each other or forcing them onto special highways just for them. We can barely make collision avoidance work in a three dimensional space with aircraft, this will not remotely work in a two dimensional space especially when vehicles HAVE to stay on the pavement!

Back on the subject of false ALP alerts, I was alerted when leaving the I-75 South Bound Toll lane when going under Windy Hill. Exiting going north at Cabela's or up I-575 has never caused an alert.

The Only Audi's that have the laser scanner in North America is the 2019 A8 and Q8. They were yanked from the A6. No idea about the A7

Not much we can do without reducing Poliscan protection. If you are not in an area where Poliscan is used just turn Poliscan off in the menu.

OK, sorry to hear that, since this is increasingly bad news. There are more and more of the new Audi's (not only A8 but now also new A7 and new Q8s showing up. I think they all use the same laser setup.

is there a good list somewhere of who uses Poliscan?

Hmm, interesting. I have a brand new A6 and am getting Poliscan falses since I put my R7 in it, never got them with the 2018 A6.

This explains the rear alert I got from one the other night. I passed by and he changed lanes to get behind me and the policscan alert happened. In the city, our speeds were 45mph.
