Since my car has been out of my hands the last 3 months I haven't really followed this much... I have the Max 360CI 2 heads in the front and 2 in the rear...tested well a while back...However I need to have parts of my system rewired once I get the car back... Could leave it as is...Could add 2 heads to the front and run 4 heads of the MAX CI 360 unit and 2 off the ZR5 (probably the least labor as I already have 2 heads run and mounted to the rear) Or I could go with 3 heads in the front and 2 or 3 in the rear... Any thoughts???

3 heads in the front if you encounter Dragon Eye... If not, 2 heads are said to be just fine up front if placed properly... also 2 heads are a must in the rear. As you know proper spacing and positioning are critical ....I have the ZR5 System an really enjoy it ..

I have a similar question. I have a Porsche Cayman s with 2 heads mounted already. How would I add 2 more? What would be the head placement of 4 on my front grill-all side by side- or 2under each headlight and the other 2 top and bottom center grill?
Maybe we can get the same answer?

which is the superior system now? Escort ZR5 4 head system or TMG 4 head system?
Any help is appreciated. I own a Porsche Cayman S.

I’m having an issue deciding wether I should purchase the ZR5 or ZW5. Considering my car is small, I should be able to get away with 2 heads in the front.

I already run an Escort Max 360 and I like the idea of connectivity. I also don’t like the idea of drilling through my firewall. Any input?

I tested a set of dual ZW5's earlier this year on a Honda odyssey. Results were very good. A couple punch through with the latest DE at ~500 ft in the very low corners but otherwise it was jtg and it was jtg against everything else. It did lack gun ID, auto JTK and the latch time was really annoying... But functionally they worked well against what's out now.

That’s good to hear. This would be my first jammer. I need something easy to use and install. I’m not someone who likes to speed very often. But out here in Hawaii, highway speeding is literally a death trap with the solo bikers.

@Flick is our Hawaii guy, he's found they run Stalker XLR's a lot so the ZW5's would do ok there. just make sure you Jam to Kill quickly since escort doesn't have a way to do it automatically yet. in the case of the ZW5's its a double press of the mute button on the attached RD to kill the jammers. the ZW5's you could have installed and paired in just a few minutes.... I think it took me about 15 minutes to install them on my car for testing with the 3M double sided tape ( which is what i use for my ALP's that are permanently installed)

I have installed a ZW5 on an Explorer with a Max 360. Installation was so easy that it took more time to think about it than install it... it was a breeze to install. The Ford Escort is a great pick for a ZW5 and the Max 360 is made for it.

Thanks, brother! It’s a fun car. I daily drive it and autocross when the season is on. One of the few cars I feel is pretty much perfect in regards to power.

Maybe some of you with unrelated questions and comments could please start your own threads? I am just trying to figure out if 3 or 4 heads are more effective than 2.... Had a killer save the other day with just 2 so maybe I am good....

I would also like to know this. I fee a bit uneasy running the ZW5 with only two heads in the front when most systems run 3 in the front. Is there some sort of logical reason as to why Escort designed the ZW5 to only accommodate two heads? What is the difference between the two ZW5 heads vs the ZR5?

The smaller number of heads supported by the ZW5 vs ZR5 is due to power requirements/limitations of the ZW5's wireless module system and the number of heads that can reliably supported.

I've tested well with 2 heads against DET's... I am more curious as to what the system does when 3 heads and than 4 heads are incorporated... I can theoretically see an advantage with 3 over 2 but not sure if the 4th doing what it would do really helps?

You ve tested well shooting on axis your front end. For sure, you will get JTG on dual ZR5s. However, if you try to shoot your DHL or PHL standing on the side of the road (try both sides) you will find out one of your HLs is going to be punch through city due to dual sensor limitations vs DET guns.

Tested dual ZR5 and there s always a weak side in dual setup.

Thanks @BaileyAB! Any chance you tested with a 3rd and than a 4th sensor? I am guessing 3 will solve the weak coverage on one side vs the other...Not sure if anything is really gained with the 4th sensor....

Not with 3 on one side however if you place 3 in front that leaves you with only 1 rear sensor which is unacceptable at least for majority of Albertans so the only valid ZR5 test should be 2 sensors per side.

@BaileyAB this thread got off topic a lot so it was easy to miss... I was talking about potentially using a standalone ZR5 system to increase the amount of heads/coverage... If I do that I could add one of those heads to my existing MAX 360ci set up giving me 3 heads in the front, than run the stand alone ZR5 system with it's left over head and my 2 already mounted heads to have 3 in the rear... Furthermore I could purchase 2 more heads (ZR5 system only comes with 2) and run 4 heads in the front 4 in the rear... However I am pretty sure having 3 or 4 heads on one side doesn't provide me and difference in "coverage"...not 100% sure thus curious if anyone has tested 3 vs 4 heads....
