If I did not have a R3 then I would be all over that. That is a very good price.

This is pretty tempting for me honestly for a nice long hauler device. I am planning to take some road trips this year and would be nice to have this leading the way.

That's the deal I got $183.77 to my door. I couldn't pass it up.

The Best Buy R1 was $179.99, no coupon/discount required for pretty much the entire month of December: www.rdforum.org: Uniden R1 Best Buy Deal Thread
Still, this is the cheapest one can be had for now. Great deal, and easily the best detector by far in this price range!

It will be interesting to see how fast the market responds to the R7 release. I picked up my 950 cheap when the DFR7 came out and now there is another ‘R’coming out. https://udn.factoryoutletstore.com/cat/84691/All-Radar-Detectors.html

Because of the arrows, and the Valentine One setting the bar for ages I’m curious if the R7 will be a total train of momentum for the market, similar to how the original Max was when DSP was the new thing.

Hard to say. I know a couple guys here have already pimped / strapped a mattress on their wives backs and told them to go out and not come home till they have $600.

Lol I'm single so I don't have that option but I've already withdrawn the cash for the R7 it's an instant buy for me and will hopefully be one of the first so I can get it in some of the better hands here at RDF for testing. Next up is an ALP or TMG to finally get into that realm.

Your welcome. Although the R1 only lacks GPS, it should be a great RD from reading reviews. I'm waiting for my DFR7 to show up today and I still have the urge to go get the R1 also.
Yes I had an R3 before but just couldn't justify the cost at the time and returned it. Made a ton of changes the last 3 months so I'm back to the drawing board starting fresh. I have a Max 360 for daily use and now am trying to gather equipment for fun/specific use. This R1 will be a perfect starting point.
