I got given a USA DFR7 and contacted Uniden about the NZ firmware and database, their reply?

"Yes you can get your US firmware and database changed over to NZ but it will cost 199.99 +GST.
You can send it to us or drop it off and we will reprogram the memory chip with our specialised apparatus."

Pretty outrageous for a firmware change.

Yup, +GST...I can think of a 4 letter word which begins with a F that.

That's $200 cheaper at least. I've seen the dfr7nz for $600+.
$130usd in places for the us plus $200nzd. Better than nothing. What's the cheapest out there for this device in New Zealand.

I wonder if its $200 to get a US bought R7 upgraded with band segments for K. That could be tempting.

You guys are lucky as to not need stealth. So much more choice.
Hmmm I keep forgetting our exchange is crap right now. Maybe $100 difference in it at the moment. Still... It's a saving. Have seen it for $130usd on sale a while back tho. Rubber monkey I'm aware of too.

Try and use private parcel forwarders or friends if you can. It will make a fair difference. Definitely hits the bargains along with a poor exchange.

NZ customs will be charging all incoming parcels with GST as of the 1st of DEC in NZ. Yes you can try get around it via various ways, but even items marked as gifts are subjected to GST on the cost declared.

Sweet as bro! Pretty much guaranteed my self I won't be able to afford the new Radenso ting dropping soon. Unsure why people are interested. Of course it will be good, but certain I'd need to sell a few cars to buy it or something. Highly doubt it's going to be under $500 haha! Sounds more like a zero is missing there. Then the Australian one will be double the price no doubt. The joys of the Oceania region.

Can we say, ‘Decompilation is often performed on computer code when source code is no longer available. Thus, it is a form of reverse engineering. Additionally, decompilation may be used for computer security, interoperability and error correction.’?
