Thought I'd share a video showing that City Mode at setting 4 (out of 10) does pretty well on the interstate even when there's a crest in the way and it's not a line of sight detection.

For those who aren't familiar with the NetRadar filtering scale, 1 is the most sensitive, and 10 is the least sensitive. So 4 is moderately filtered sensitivity, and does help quite a bit with the odd BSMs that punch through in Highway mode.

The LEO is in the silver Dodge Ram on the left at 0:57 seconds. He was running 24.110 (constant on). I was coming out of a curve left on the interstate. Measures out to about 2.6 miles with a crest between us (assuming LEO was rolling towards me the whole time).

Settings were City Mode K4, K filter on, K-Traffic (aka TSR TSF) filter off, K-POP off, MRCD off.

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

Here's another 1.3 mile K band detection from the NR DSP today:
Settings: City Yellow - K band: 4, wide, K-filter only

@hiddencam what are your NR settings 4 city yellow, what about red?
I wish NR would have filtering on highway mode, but it looks unlikely to be implemented...

Yellow is K4 X8
Red is K8 X9.

NR does actually apply all of the user-selected filters (K-filter, K-traffic, K-pop, MRCD) to ALL modes (Highway, City Yellow, and City Red).

Are you saying you'd like to be able to have the option of having different Hwy filters to City Y/R filters?

@hiddencam I guess more accurately I'm referring to the Radar Filter Thresholds. It'd be great to have an option to filter for Highway as well as the K is too sensitive for use @ 100% in my area, so highway is never used.
Also like the unidens, it would be nice to be able to tune down the Ka for city driving to reduce the extra moon sniffs

Ah the threshold, gotcha. Yeah I more often run in CIty Yellow K4, even on the highway when there are a lot of BSMs, then highway mode when there are less vehicles and stores around. I see what you're saying about Ka reduction. Personally I wouldn't use that - it's just not something that makes sense to me. If I'm getting annoyed by Ka band alerts (might have happened twice in the time I've used it haha) I'll just use the "muted" function to shut everything up and not speed; just monitor my external LED to keep my SA of threats.

But it's great to have options, and Uniden sure have spoiled us. Maybe you could succeed in running it in filtered/desensitized highway mode by just add a layer of radar absorbing material (Eccosorb) in front of the antenna? Maybe use a plate-flipper device (or a retractor like hammerdown has done) to lower the Eccosorb screen if you want maximum sensitivity again. A lot of work, I know, but at least you'd get what you want.

No way I would physically desensitize them!
I have a V1 for daily driving and when family is in the car and Profile C for ALP only. Profile A/B include NR-DSP F/R. too many moon sniffs on a daily basis. My driving area has highways nearby separated by a few hundred yards of woods and if it werent for waze and the leo pins showing them on the highways nearby, I'd think it was falsing... V1 picks some of them up too, but not as much.

Honestly, I should have kept the NR in the rear, instead of updating it to a DSP! Now I feel the NR arrows are less accurate than they were before!
If we could setup a profile with reduced NRDSP Ka, they'd be on all the time when I have passengers....

Until the app developers/Tom gives you what you're looking for (or assuming you never get it), what about a profile with the rear antenna turned off, radar speed limit for all bands, radar speed limit at 56, Ka wide (so it's slower with less range), and master volume turned way low, or run an earbud to your left ear with normal volume so they won't hear anything? I know you lose arrows doing that, but small price to pay to get some peace. I'd probably just mute all volume and watch the LED and app. But I agree that it sure would be awesome to have more available profiles, and more user configuration. In the absence of that, I've always got a less sensitive backup detector I can pull out if I don't need best range.

Thats what I run !! Cept yellow k5 others same !!
Great minds think alike ... my prob us my NR is d@mn noisey while running suburbs.
I just discovered or rather @Flonase and @insipid monkey EDUCATED me .. to the Individual Front vs Rear Antennae settings!!
Do you run Default setts on those screens ??
If not can you or anyone list your front rear setts so I can have s baseline to start on my DSP / Orig Antennaes.

Thanks in advance to all who reply !!!!

@benzr I just have a front antenna. Thought about rear ... but yeah, sure would escalate the noise lol.

I have DSP in front grill and NR-O rear on the back deck by the center seat headrest. I always run rear NR with K Seg 4&5, both Traffic and BSM K filters On and Ka Wide... I never have a BSM K false on the rear! as in almost never... I thought about upgrading rear to DSP but am afraid of getting falses.

I run DSP Ka Segs 2568, but with rear NR in Ka Wide I feel I would get something for a notice if I encountered an out of tune gun and would be certain I actually found a Unicorn!

--- Edit --- I added "almost" to never...I realized "never" is a very strong word and of course we all know "never" is never true!

THANKS MUCH @TurboDriver !!!

Screenshot taken snd I'll try your setts !!
@hiddencam ...
Rather than a R7 get a NR-O for your Rear .... TOM's ARROWs on his App are AWESOOOME !! Even has Side Arrows !!

Not necessary but D@mn Sweeeet !!

Just a thought ... btw: Thx for the Vidz !!
