@Bossdad71 , I REALLY HOPE that you did not refund out of your own pocket, or that OP took your money! If he did I would as least ask that he send you everything he received from you...
I did and he said he dismissed complaint. I'll take it hes an honest guy and did what he said he was going to do.

It is not uncommon for companies to refer end users to the manufacturer for defects after 30 days of sale. For a customer to assume that the seller is responsible after standard return period and complain about it, then take an employees personal money is unbelievable... but I'm sure not uncommon.... There are those that ask for refunds, cancel payments, and still keep the product for free and keep on using it too...

I bought it new from RadarBusters. I had the first one about a month before I mounted it. That could be one of the reasons I suppose they are burning me and not refunding. I'll post some pictures today. I have to mount it again to take the pictures.

OK, not sure what's going on. I already posted these images, but they disappeared. Here they are again. One is before I mounted the cover to show the delamination when the cover is slightly bent. The other two are mounted on my car.

@cewens, Out of curiosity how does the plate look from 10 ft away (or from another vehicle as an LEO could see...

the first pic, you can see the pressure on your fingertips as you bend the cover.

Apparently, a year ago, someone bought a Christmas tree from Costco and returned it in January for a refund. Unreasonable cases like that result in increased prices or reduced service for the rest of us.

I would be ashamed of myself to take money out of someones pocket. Bossdad is a STAND UP guy. He doesn't get paid big bucks and works tirelessly around the clock to help people. This is really disappointing and just disgusting.

@cewens Just so you know I peronally refunded @Bossdad71 out of my own pocket.

He is such an honest individual with such a level of integrity that he would go without food and water to help his customers (and he doesn't even own the place) and that isn't fair to him that you took advantage of him when you were the one in the wrong and outside of the return policy time frame. I am disappointed that you would put someone in this position and take advantage of someone who is trying to survive everyday while you enjoy your retirement and take deals like this when you yourself knew you were out of the return window on this.

Thanks for doing this Kasher. This forum is so special, I know a lot of us would have done the same. Customer service is nasty and dealing with products and inventory is even harder. I hate when stuff like this has to happen.

And props to you bossdad. You've got one of the kindest hearts I've ever seen and deserve nothing but the best. Thanks you for just being you

Obviously you are SMARTER than your employer, and I doubt he appreciates it....
He refunded my purchase. I am returning the two IR Invisi-Plate covers, postage paid out of my own pocket. (I know, who gives a rat's butt, right?) Too bad his employer doesn't value product support. I take it that he is an honest guy and the money really is coming out of his pocket, just as he is assuming my honesty to return the covers out of my own pocket.

As for all the other bad-mouthing posts, have you forgotten that the product is defective and is being marketed as not being defective? Too bad his company has to sell a product that doesn't do what it claims to do. Incidentally, from ten feet away you can see white lines that pass across the letters/numbers. You can make out the letters/numbers, but the lines reflecting the light are obvious. I would post a picture, but...

Let's be done with this now. More armchair internet warrior talk will not accomplish anything.

I own a few different OnTrack products. I will say that the product shown in the pictures here has a manufacturing defect. That one was manufactured very poorly. I’m really surprised OnTrack even shipped it out to begin with. Once it gets into the package, it’s harder to tell - and I wouldn’t blame a retailer as it could be missed hiding in the packaging. This one should have been stopped from ever shipping out of OnTrack’s manufacturing facility.

Bossdad71 is an honest guy, and will do as much as he can. As he said he can’t make all the decisions and has to defer to the business owners for directive, but I know he always tries his hardest to make things right.

I also don’t think the original poster here is wrong to expect an exchange. Try with the retailer, and if no success then go to the manufacturer, OnTrack. Those photos are very telling and IMO an embarrassment on OnTrack. They need to QA their product.

I got a poorly manufactured one myself a while ago. I sent off photos of what I received to the retailer, they sent me a replacement that didn’t have the defect my first one did. In my case I was within the 30 day period. Same retailer, different product made by OnTrack.

It looks to me like you guys got things squared away. Bossdad did what he was able, OP produced evidence of a defective product, and unfortunately when things fall outside of time windows specified in the terms of the sale, then I think really anything that does get done for the buyer is a bonus of good will, and not due to contractual obligation.

Shake on it and learn from it all. Bossdad71 will be here to help you with your next purchase, and is a good friend to keep.

I disagree. Return policy is 30 days.... If there was an issue it should have been squared away BEFORE the 30 day window.....

Good morning everyone, I'm glad this is laid to rest and we can move on. The customer got his 35.00 and on a mans word he dismissed his paypal claim and is sending back both IR plates. I spoke to the owner last night and she will put the 35 on my next pay check. Since I'm a contract worker no taxes are held out so I'll get full amount. @KASHER1979 I'll send you that money back so you can feed your family and pigs lol. Thanks again for all of kind words. It truly mean a lot. I'm honored to be apart of this forum family. Best of luck to the customer hope he finds what hes looking for wherever he buys. Mike aka monkey

As of last nights mail I have not received a tracking number, or the plates back from the original OP. He said per our phone conversation he would mail it the next day, but even if that didnt happen, most post offices are still open on Saturdays, and not it's Friday.

He still has not produced a picture of the second plate I sent him he claimed was defective.

I wanted everyone to be aware, I kept my end of the deal, and thank you @KASHER1979 for helping me out, and regardless I will get you pais back Tuesday, Payday. @PY004
