I don't like how I'm forced to use Spotify if I want integration with Waze.

I mean FFS Google owns Waze, and I can't use Youtube Music/Google Music, nor can I use, say, Amazon Music. Am I missing something here or am I bound to Spotify if I want in app integration for internet music?

Audio apps supported by Waze are:

Android: Spotify, NPR One, Pandora, TuneIn, Deezer, Scribd, Stitcher, iHeart Radio

iOS: Spotify, Deezer, Scribd, Stitcher, iHeart Radio

"More Audio Apps coming soon" according to the Waze app on my iPhone.

Honestly you're not missing too much, at least until Waze improves this feature. I'm a Spotify user, and the Waze integration works as expected maybe 50% of the time on my iPhone. I hit the Spotify button, it switches to Spotify and starts playing music, then when I switch back to Waze, it doesn't show me the current song or allow me to control it. I have to force close both apps and do the whole thing over again, and then MAYBE it will work if it feels like it.

I love the idea though, so hopefully it improves in future releases -- along with support for more apps.

I play my local scanner feed provided by Broadcastify with TuneIn through my wAZE. It covers my local City PD and County PD. All I needed to do was add a custom url.

What does it offer? I have been asked by Waze if I want to integrate my music but I just have said no. I start music then I open Waze and both happen at the same time. Is it so I dont have to leave Waze to pick a new song? Most of the time I have XM playing. They allow now all subscription levels to stream so even though I have it built into the car I listen on my device via Bluetooth so I can have Waze alerts play too.

Yeah it just lets you press next song/pause/previous from a little menu on the screen in Waze. It doesn't work very well in my experience but I stopped using it awhile ago so maybe they fixed it. When I would try to use it the majority of the time it would just launch Spotify full screen and then I'd have to go back to Waze. Occasionally it would work as it was suppose to and I'd get the overlay of what song was playing and I could easily choose a playlist/artist.

It's been working good for me. TuneIn is the only app I know off that works with wAZE that will allow you to add a custom url. I add my local LE stream link from Broadcastify or I use Scanner Radio app alone and set wAZE reports to my phone speaker. I don't use it every day. Only when in the mood to hear LE jibber jabber :) but usually I'm listening to music from my flash drive

I run Waze and the formerly Slacker Radio now LiveX at the same time. The phone is bluetoothed to my radio. Waze want's me to run my music app through Waze but I'll refuse. Both Waze and LiveX work just fine without any conflicts. I suspect you can do the same with Spotify.
