Anyone else notice this? Maybe we'll be seeing reports on Google Maps now.

I would be interested in this. My G05 arrived this week and their version of CarPlay allows me to use Google Maps or Waze on the main screen with smartphone in the charging cradle.

Interesting, we'll be pulling other data from Google Maps for RDFGSv2 - if Google Maps ends up doing something with their service like having trap alerts/similar that will be a rather large database to pull from (and publish to).

Not showing that either on Android Oreo 8.0
Are you running Oreo 2 or Pie?
Android Pie. Google Pixel (OG or HTC Sailfish).
Usually, Google drops updates for Pixel 3, then 2 and 1/og, then it trickles down to everyone else. Don't know if the phone model has to do with it but I've noticed this trend myself.

It should look like this while you are navigating (so unlike Waze, I can't find an option to report without a destination). It's the speech bubble with a plus sign right above the X.

Interesting!
I'm on a Pixel 2XL and it doesn't seem to have that. I did try "navigating" from my chair but still no dice. Hmm...

It will suck if google maps and waze are not using same database of users. Because you could see split in reports. Meaning some waze users will go to Google Maps and start reporting there... for me personally google maps sucks for navigation had dozen of time get me to wrong location.

Yeah the carriers have all drug their feet on the pie update
Especially Samsung because they have to reboot Samsung experience as well
Early 2019 is when the better carriers are supposed to roll out pie to this years Samsung model

The only people running Pie right now
Is Pixel users and a few smaller phone companies that are on the open beta program
That will change heavily next month into February when most carriers will start updating

This is one of the reasons why I wanted to create a centralized database app a while back actually - pulling data from tons of different locations and doing analysis to see if they are just duplicate reports/etc will be very easy to do with RDFGSv2.

And  you can tell I've been thinking a lot about RDFGSv2 lately.

I heard that they were adding traps to Google Maps. Wife has only let me out of house twice since her total knee replacement last week, so haven't used much of anything in the way of navigation apps.

Posted from my SM-J337P using the RDF Mobile App!

Look for version number under app properties. It updated last Wednesday and it's at 10.6.1. Maybe it has to deal with what city you're in?

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

Google owns Waze. I just wish they would merge the two properly and it seems this is a step in that direction.

Yup, mine is 10.6.1

Maybe I have to be moving. I haven't tried it while actually moving yet.

If for some reason the platform splits knowing Google well, I dont think it will and they will integrate
But if it does im confident they would change it to integrate after a few months after being told about it
While being a huge scary monster that gobbles up other businesses
Google is actually a company at the heart of it
That wants to attach information to everything making it easier for its users
In the process making **** tons of cash hand over fist

It's only working on select users devices/areas....Read an article a week ago....No mention if it will be the same source as Waze, but would/will be awesome if it is.
