As I’m pondering while awaiting pickup of two new DSP units from UPS, I’m thinking of interior install for front and back on a 328i.

Ideally, the front would be placed in top windshield slightly left of mid-center (rear-view mirror mount) with some sort of roof liner edge mount. At the back, just beneath the rear brake light at top of window.

I’ve seen Vortex’s example in background of videos... I’m thinking the positioning will be ideal for higher-view/down-the-road-path-to-horizon. Plus I want to make some comparisons to an existing Max 360c in similar position to the right of the rear view mirror mount.

The rear can be sugru‘d or 3M’d.

Before I begin fabrication of mount from scratch...

Anyone have experience with such a set-up? Suggestions?

EightyFiveHundred ran a WS mount NR DSP on his M5 for some time: www.rdforum.org: UPDATE: e60 m5 ALP 2Rx/1Tx, NR f/r DSP, w/GPS and BT, flic, F/R G1W-H
Added my NR DSP antenna. For now, I decided to mount my "remote" on my windshield above my RVM because of a couple of reasons. 1) Metallic paint, and 2) an exterior bumper mount would be 5 inches off the ground.

I'll see if I have any interference with my rear NR mounted on my rear windshield. I have my profiles set, where I can easily turn off my rear antenna.

And added a NetRadar in the rear...I wanted a higher mounting position v. a low behind the bumper location.

Hmmm... that BlendMount which tilted my M1 has been repurposed!!

Magnet removed in case it could influence NRDSP... Gorilla Glue to bond the mount & link @-65 to 220deg F working parameters LOL

Nice. I went with a more discrete method so LEOs didn't see it. A Radenso visor mount did the trick. It's now behind the bumper, but was really happy with this while it lasted.

Thank you hiddencam!
That may be a path I take as I’m inclined to fabricate a mount to use that escort-former-magnetic-mount base to position at the top of the wind screen to make less noticeable... the clip design will work with the headliner and the foot base of the mount will allow adjustment...

For now, the BlendMount will work to get operational up front. I’ll spend some time today engineering a rear placement solution to get ready for tomorrow’s commute.
