So sorry for your loss. Pets are FAMILY! They are with you every day.
I always have a tough time when losing one as well. We have 5 pups (small breed such as Chihuahua, a MinPin, and one's a mix of some sorts) and lost a MinPin a few months ago. It was hard saying goodbye.
Thanks guys. She was my ”gentle giant". We got her when the oldest two kids were 2 and 1. The patience that dog had was amazing! Even last week the 4 mo. old puppy was pestering her in the dog house and she still was just as cool and collected as ever.
My Yellowlab Milly is going on 11yrs...not like she used to be, it will be a hard when the day comes. For a best friend, dogs do not live near long enough...I have had to say good bye to 3 of my own so far, not an easy thing to do .
Labs have got to be the most destructive puppies and the best dogs. We've got two smaller rescue mutts so I don't see any more dogs on the near future but I'd definitely do it all over again and get another.
Thanks for all the kind words. I figured my RDF peeps would get it. It's been a somber day but I'm a bit relieved as she was getting to a point where she was having problems standing and was losing weight. The vet and I had the talk about putting her down but I just couldn't do it. One week ago today, she came out and stood by my side all day while I raked and burned leaves. I figured if she was willing to do that she wasn't ready to give up yet.
