Video and Map below. Don't think my R3 would've picked it up any sooner. As always the ramp up was stellar.

Curious - could you just mute K for 7 seconds in V1C instead of auto mute for 3 in V1D? Or is there a benefit to your way?

I'd be willing to bet that your R3 would have picked it up sooner especially since it's 35.5 but there's no doubt that the ramp on the V1 beats the hell out of the R3. The R3 is like beep beep....beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!! without much in between LOL.

I really like your enthusiasm about your V1 but I can't help but believe that a healthy R-series detector would have alerted earlier to that signal and also likely wouldn't have dropped the signal for about 8 seconds midway through that encounter. I agree the V1 has the best ramp in the Biz...while it's detecting. Nice vid though, keep them coming.

No because the V1 doesn’t automute after 4 seconds and stay muted, like every detector on the market. It actually automutes “for” 4 seconds then unmutes. That’s where V1Driver comes in. With V1D you can have it actually automute after a period time you select. In my case 3 sec. This is hard to explain if you are not familiar with both apps but did my best.

Well I have about 25k miles on my R3, very familiar with it, and it is indeed a healthy example of a first batch xxx39x model. I’m still quite certain the detection would be comparable to what this encounter showed here with my V1.

Edit: I’ll give you that the R3 most likely wouldn’t have dropped the signal like the V1 did, but “first-detection” I do believe would’ve been about the same. NH terrain here is no joke.

With respect, if your R3 is detecting 35.5 at comparable ranges to your V1 then it's not a healthy example of an R3. Isn't there ample data on the comparative performance between the two detectors?

I agree to an extent. My R3 in open areas will destroy my V1 on 35.5 hands down, no question. However in most cases on back roads here in NH, including this one, it’s very terrain limited and both detectors show very similar performance.

That is fair. We can agree that for terrain limited encounters, many times, most times even, there will be very little difference between detectors, even between mid tier and top tier detectors. In my experience, the majority of those situations will be when the detectors' ramps commences and tops out fairly quickly. However for lazy non-urgent ramps, such as what your V1 expressed for this particular encounter, even with the signal dropping for about 8 seconds, that's when the liklihood of impressive separation increases. I just got the impression that a more sensitive detector - R series, NetRadar DSP, Radenso, M3 - would have chirped a good bit sooner, and probably wouldn't have dropped it at all or for as long. Cheers.

A half mile 35.5 detection on NH back roads is always good :)

Thats exactly what i thought
If youre getting that on 35.5 there or in NC out to like 0.6 miles youre good to go
Because their limited to the curve in front of them
