If I get lucky with some Christmas Cash - I plan on buying one of these PRO M's.
I did my research - a lot of it - before I bought mine and I'm really glad I got the Pro M. What I really like is the small size and lightness of the physical unit (compared to the other competitors at the same level/calbre) and the real technology they have in filtering out false K band - especially with the radar that cars are using for blind spot monitoring etc. it causes a lot of falses on K band for most radar detectors today. For me in my city cops use K band exclusively (for radar - they predominately use LIDAR here, but I have an ALP system for that) so I needed something that could filter out as many falses as possible while still protecting me from real threats. The Pro M has proved to be great - still a few K falses but it's not a big issue, especially when you can silence the unit when under a certain speed limit. Mind you I have not had real world experience/use of the competitors.
Read the posts of users of the Pro M - not much bad is said about them really.

I have had nothing but Escort for probably thirty years. I am tired of all the false signals so started researching the BSM problem. It looks like Radenso has a good fix on the problem. Because of this and the outstanding customer service that I have read about on this forum I have told my wife that i want a Pro M for Christmas.

I'm trying to update mine for the first time. I went to the website twice and tried to down load the latest (updater 2.6) but i get this ............

Your Radenso updater is out of date.
Please download the latest version at www.radenso.com

That's the one I'm using but it's not accepting the detector. It says the updater is out of date but it's the 2.6 version.
I'm unable to get a screenshot.

Not sure if this is the case for you but one thing the manual doesn't tell you and I had to figure it myself is that you still have to have the power connected to the Pro M and the usb cable (I had hoped it would get power from the usb so I could update it at my desktop) - nope I had to use my laptop in the car with the ProM powered on - then it found the ProM and updated. The manual should state that the ProM must be powered up AND connected via usb to do the update.

You only need to use the USB data cable connected to your computer to update your Pro M. You do not need to have power to the Pro M to update it.

Oh wow, thank you for that. It didn't work when I tried. I tried it again just now - connected only the usb cabll try again and see. (I tried again just now - the updater cannot see my ProM - only have the usb cable connected) I can't call support as they are only open until 5pm ET (which is 6am my time)

Try a different computer ..
WORKED FOR ME !!
Think your Firewall or similar Endpoint Protection App is blocking it.

Btw: Once your computer sees it the whole process is totally seamless !!

Ok well I can confirm that if you just use the usb cable the updater recognizes the ProM and displays the serial number - so thanks to Radenso for clearling that up (I don't need to have it powered up also) I DO however get the same error mentioned here says updater is not current. Tried on three computers - 2 had this error (one of these I previously used to update the ProM and it worked) and one doesn't see the ProM at all.

If you can give our support department your serial numbers tomorrow, we can look more into it tomorrow. I can’t do much unfortunately as I’m at home since it is 10 PM EST now

Maybe try the version loader that worked?

Also are you sure you got the ProM software not Pro SE or XP. ??

Yea there’s usb data cables and usb charging cables.

This has worked for me with other update problems - change the order of operations.

Open installer / driver first and then plug in detector

Or

Plug in detector to PC first and then click on driver installer

Or

With any of the 2 combinations above, plug and unplug the usb cable several times and use all USB ports (some PCs have 2 or 3)


My experience with escort and Uniden, it didn’t always auto detect to automatically open the driver; I had to manually get it to work
