So. I nabbed a refurbished R3 on ebay for my brother in law in Alberta (for Xmas) where these are completely legal. I'm in a province where detectors are illegal. I've purchased dozens of units over the years without issue. I just received an message from eBay's global shipping program.

"We are writing to inform you that your GSP order is currently under review for potential prohibited items and may experience a delay of 3-5 business days"

Wtf is this? Since when does the federal government enforce provincial laws? And just becuase I purchased this doesn't mean I'm going to use it?

I emailed the seller to see if they have seen anything like this before? Have any members encountered this?

Weird. I've never had issues with shipping detectors, even across international borders via Montreal. I don't think you'll have any issue.

GSP is a scam. eBay collects duties on items that aren't dutiable and charges a handling fee far in excess of what Canada Post charges.

I'll only buy from a seller that uses GSP as a last resort.

GPS declares products by the eBay listing title automatically. Odds are something in the title threw a red flag.

For future reference, as a courtesy to all my clients, I offer a free forwarding service. Send me a pm if this one falls thru and I’ll be happy to help

Yeah I also hate GSP and only use it as a last resort. But this deal was too good to pass up.

Will do. I've purchased from you before no issues.
